We The Change
Okay. So basically a lot of people were getting pretty angry about things like people being sexist, racist, homophobic, and some people were getting angry about some books where characters were not perfect role models of strong female characters. And I was also angry (rightfully so) and I wanted to do something about it (this happens often. Rarely do I actually do something). So I proposed the idea of, well, doing something, though in the form of a magazine. Though I didn't really propose it. I was more like, "My brain wants to do a magazine but that doesn't really make sense since we don't know each other irl and also that's a lot of work and also how would we publish an actual magazine." And then another member, AspiringAuthor, suggested we create...a blog! A blog where we can post about these issues but also about empowering things, about people doing good things, about peoples coming out stories or being feminists or standing up against racism. After a bit of thinking I also came up with the name "be the change" (though we haven't confirmed that everyone likes it yet). And so, here we are.
Now I just want to say one thing.
I think that a lot of people will really want to help with this.
However I'm afraid...if we have tens and tens of people working on the blog it could get kinda confusing and messy and such....
Remember the blog is only part of it. The blog is only the base and what people want to say on the blog is the building. So just because you're not working on the blog does not mean that you cannot help us. Write something we can post, do a bit of artwork, advertise the blog all around. We still need you, okay? I don't want to push anyone out from this but I really think that too many people logged into the wordpress website, working on the blog can get super super confusing and just....frustrating and it may make the blog look kinda messy.
Thanks for understanding, guys.
Um wow actually though how many people do we have working on this? Because...I feel like six or so people at the most would be preferred...but I would feel bad taking people who have already expressed interest and saying no to them working on the blog.....
how would we create the blog? through wordpress? i'd love to do the graphics. no one asked me but whatever.

Ummmm okay. Blogger people.We need:
-Graphics (Katie)
-General set-up (please check with everyone to make sure we all like it)
-Social media
-Person who talks to people/organizes things (aka uses the email)--I'd like to do this. I enjoy emailing people. I'm weird, deal with it
-LGBTQIAP+ (Hayden)
-Racism
-Feminism
If it's okay with you all, could Katie work on graphics? She requested it and she's good at it too--I've seen

hm, I'd love to do racism AND feminism but that wouldn't be fair

Here's a list of people who have expressed interest (on this topic), then we can assign roles: (no particular order)-Adela
-Katie
-Aspiringauthor
-Lilly
-Ayla
-Hayden
Here's a list of who's doing what, I'll add people when they say they want to do something:-Graphics--Katie
-General set-up (please check with everyone to make sure we all like it)
-Social media--Adela
-Person who talks to people/organizes things (aka uses the email)--Phoenix
-People writing posts (feminism, lgbtqiap+ community, racism)--Ayla, Audrey, Hayden,

Ha ha I was updating my post too but yours is neater
maybe separate the three post topics into three different lines to keep track, I dunno
I know that Lilly has made a blog before, maybe she could do the general set up? That's like choosing theme, pictures, what the site looks like, and then also making sure it continues to look nice.I could technically do this but wordpress frustrates me (even though it's probably the best thing to use--it offers lots of stuff) and also I don't wanna hog
Ayla ~all you had to do was stay~ wrote: "Guys, one sec. I'm going to create a separate group about this."Okay...I suppose a group might be useful...though we will eventually have a blog
but yeah I can see how a group would be super useful, actually.
make sure to make it secret I guess. So that no one can even see what it is so we can do planning in secret.
Okay! Umm...would you mind making it secret? Maybe I'm just super paranoid or whatever but...if it's private people can still see what the group's aboutand request to join
and I'd like it to stay between us
What role would you like? Some roles are already filled up so it depends.Remember, just because you don't work on the blog doesn't mean you can't help. You can still write posts, advertise, etc. That's all super useful!
Hmm not sure exactly what you mean. If you want to draw things for this we will, once the blog is set up, have a section of it for art that relates to these topics. You could put stuff in then. If you have a more specific role or can expand on this one I'd also be willing to consider it.
Hmm that sounds like graphics...I believe that Katie is already working with graphics so I'm not sure we have a spot for you...I dunno, I'll see what I can do but I make no promises...I'm really sorry.
Spots still open:We need people who are willing to write posts about the LGBTQIAP+ community (one or two more people), about feminism (probably 1 person) and about racism (or actually anti-racism) (probably about one person).
To be writing posts, you need to be able to 1. Be pretty confident in your writing skills (it's gotta sound nice), 2. It has to be a subject you're very passionate about since, well, you'll be writing about it, and 3. you're going to have to be able to take suggestions, criticism, edits, etc.
Me and Audrey are both doing feminism and racism, so I think we actually only need one more person. I think we'd be fine with that.

I'm writing the explanation right now, fyi, it may take me a few mins.
Also I came up with the general idea but AspiringAuthor came up with the idea to do a blog
