hey! so what did you all think of this book? share all your spoilery thoughts!

Deepak My favourite one in the trilogy. The ending is superb. After reading all chapters, I felt sad for Jem. After reading epilogue, I felt sad for Will.

Some questions for you guys:
1. Did Jessamine deserve to die?
2. Did you cry? If yes, then in which parts?
3. Who were you shipping Tessa with? Were you satisfied?
4. Is Mortmain a good villian?
5. What was your least favorite part?
6. What was your favorite part?
7. Was there any quote you liked?
8. What was the overall experience?

Tisha (theyaqueen) | 22 comments 1. No, she didn't, at all!!! :/ But still, I feel like as a ghost, her character got the closure that many characters in CC's stories don't get...? At least it enabled her to be there in TDA

2. Well, of course I did, this book is a roller-coaster of feels! I think... when Jessamine died, I cried, also, when we thought Jem was dead, and then when Will died in the epilogue, and I almost-but-didn't-quite-cry when Tessa and Jem are reunited in the epilogue 🥰 I love all the characters, what can I say?

3. Okay, so... In most love triangles, I'm rooting for someone, but in TID, it's just so beautifully crafted, and most of the time, I was just confused about whom I wanted her to end with, because I love both Jem and Will, my two cute cinnamon rolls 🤗 But yes, I was satisfied with the ending, because effectively, she was with both of them... I love the scenes in COHF and TDA when we get to see Tessa and Jem together, and COG when we got to see Will and Tessa together (for first-time readers, don't worry, you'll get there soon! 😉)

4. YES! Yes, he is, because there are generally two types of villains I don't like: the two-dimensional bad guy, or the villains that are wayy too easy to defeat... however, we get Mortmain's backstory in Clockwork prince, and it gets elaborated in this book, and I really love how he has that drive and passion, and in Clockwork Prince there are actually parts (*cough* Aloysius Starkweather and his spoils *cough*) where we end up feeling bad for him... and since he got so close to defeating literally all of the Enclave, I think we all will agree that he was not easy to defeat 😂

5. Probably the part where Tessa is taken from the Institute by the Dark Sisters, and Jessie dies... that part sucks 😭 And then there's also that part where we think that Gabriel is working for the Consul (who sucks, by the way), I really, really wanted to hate him, but I somehow couldn't, and... yeah.

6. Oh, oh, oh, there are so many parts that I love!!! Will's proposal, the part when Magnus catches Will and Tessa doing you-know-what (SPOILER FOR COLS(view spoiler)... and then there was the scene when Jem and Tessa reunite at the end of the book! <3

7. “And to the devil with it if she is!" said the Consul. "One girl, who is not Nephilim, is not, cannot, be our priority."
"She is my priority!" Will shouted.”

"Life is a book, and there are a thousand pages I have not yet read."

“You don't think I can fight." Tessa said, drawing back and matching his silvery gaze with her own. "Because I'm a girl."
"I don't think you can fight because you're wearing a wedding dress", said Jem. "For what it's worth, I don't think Will could fight in that dress either."
"Perhaps not," said Will, who had ears like a bat. "But I would make a radiant bride.”

“You endure what is unbearable, and you bear it. That is all.”

There are so many more, but these are my favourites 💕

8. Overall, I think this is my favourite book in the trilogy!!! It's ending is so beautiful and bittersweet, I love it! It expands on the world we already know and love, it tells us the characters' backstories, it gives all of them closure, and (of course) it breaks my heart into a million pieces every time I read it! Simply amazing *chef's kiss*

I agree a lot with all of them! and thats so many quotes (feeling bad I couldn't keep track of them when I was reading lol)

fun fact is, that when i first read this series i thought the consul and Charlotte were in love....yeah. idk. sorry. idk how that thought came to me...

1. NO SHE DID NOT. i will not even talk about this ....

btw was her death sad just for me? she told Will to take care of Baby Jessie and I burst out crying

2. Jessamines death. the other scene where I cried was the part where Jem is a silent brother and comes to talk to Will for the last time before he goes in the weapons room and ther are remembering their childhood memories

3. idk even know. i guess i didnt mind? probably Will since I felt so bad for him...

4. Not exactly someone I'd be scared from. he is like the villian who tries to be scary while others are just like "so annoying!" as if he is a fly. in this series at least, i don't think his villianess was even supposed to be a thing. he was just there and we didn't even see him in clockwork prince!

5. The part when Will and Tessa do it even tho Jem just "died". and Jessamine's death.

6. The scenes when everyone is chasing benedicts worm

7. I...don't remember. ugh! i shouldve taken notes

8. GREAT. when i first read it, it was kinda slow tho.
