A huge square room with dark gray walls.

In the far right corner, there are racks of weapons. Knives, bows and arrows, spears, nets, you name it. There are also rows upon rows of training dummies, and a room off to the side where you can wait in line to fight with an instructor.

On the far left, there's a massive agility course that loops in a circle. It includes jumps, climbing nets, and swinging weights that you have to dodge. Running the full course would take about ten minutes, or even longer when you have opponents trying to push you off.

In the front right corner, there's a rock wall, ropes and nets hanging from the ceiling, and sets of weights. The rock wall begins violently shaking every few minutes, and it takes a lot of effort to stay on when it does.

On the front left, there are plenty of stands and information panels on various things you might need. Camouflage, knots, plants, starting fires, etc. Each of these stands are run by a different instructor.

Right in the center, there's a large cylindrical pillar that stretches almost up to the roof. It has ropes hanging down from the ceiling to help tributes climb up to the top.

Andy cartwheeled into the training room with a giggle, before launching herself upright. She took a bow as the other tributes walked in, and then skipped towards the weapons corner, humming to herself. She picked up a knife and examined it for a moment, before attacking one of the dummies and quickly slicing its throat. She glanced around, seeming a bit self-conscious. Actually, she was hoping someone was watching her. Whoever decided to ally with her was in for a surprise. Andy picked up another knife, setting down her first one, and attacked the same dummy. She danced around with with quick, methodical steps, stabbing and jabbing from every angle.

Elektra walked into the Training Room, brushing black hair behind her ears. Her eyes scanned the room coolly, searching for something she needed to learn. Weaponry would be important...plants, she was weak with, but that depended on if the arena was even outdoors. Building and snares, she hadn't officially learned, but she worked with enough wires and structures to know that it wouldn't be too much of an issue. She went to a net hanging from the ceiling and inspected it carefully, green eyes probing the whole thing even as she started climbing. She wasn't very fast, and not strong, but she made her way up steadily.

Lavi walked into the room, barely glancing at the District Six girl. She seemed to think this was fun or something, and he really couldn’t stand it. Do you ever just look at someone and get annoyed? That’s pretty much exactly what he felt towards her. He walked over to the center pillar and grabbed one of the ropes, pulling himself up. He wasn’t very fast, but he was strong, and he made it up to the top after a while.

Elektra hung onto the rope with one hand, pulling out a piece of paper from her pocket. It was odd, but that was the Token she'd chosen for herself - scribbled with equations and numbers, formulas for probability. She had a vantage point here, and it was perfect for her to analyze the others. Who would die first, who might kill her.

Almana stalked into the room, looking around with a deadly glare. She ignored everyone else in the room, picking up a sword and attacking a dummy. She stepped to the side as its head hit the floor with a thump and continued cutting up another dummy without even pausing. Her precision, the anger in her eyes, the way she carried herself, all contributed to her intimidating appearance. Hopefully, everyone would leave her alone. She didn’t plan on joining the Career pack. They were a bunch of fools, and she’d be better off without them. The one good thing about these games was the chance to be alone, something she rarely got in District One. She wasn’t going to give that up for a few idiots who wanted her on their side. She had already taken down six dummies at this point, and kept going, lost in thought.

Lavi crouched on top of the pillar, getting ready to jump down. He looked around, noticing one of the other tributes watching everyone from one of the nets. Lavi shrugged, not really caring, and hopped down. Problem was, he tripped over the edge and fell to the floor, landing hard on his shoulder. “Shit.” He sat up with a small groan. “That hurt.” Nothing seemed broken, but it still definitely hadn’t felt nice. He stood up and walked to the plants section.

Elektra spotted Lavi trip, noting him down. Literally. She watched Almana for a moment, eyes narrowing as she destroyed dummies right and left. Andi, she frowned at in confusion, and scribbled down a few equations.

Andy took a step back to admire her handiwork. The dummy seemed pretty dead. She shrugged and walked away, stabbing it one more time for good measure and leaving the knife there. She stood at the start of the agility course and waited, ready to spring at the signal. A loud beep told her to go, and she leaped off the platform and darted across a small balance beam, sliding underneath a low bar. She was incredibly fast, a strength she had gained from years of running away from Peacekeepers back home.

Elektra put away the paper, tucking it into her pocket. She went to the weapons rack. Some of those weapons looked bigger than her. She sighed and inspected them all, choosing a spear that she figured would be balanced for her.

ѕнєяℓσ¢к ♡ (mushroomlad) Kayne walked into the training room, that familiar lazy smile on his face. He scanned the room, then decided to go over to the tridents and show off instead of practicing his weaknesses. This made sense in his head. He picked up a trident and began sharpening it with expert skill. Then he threw it at the dummy, lodging it in the dummy's stomach. He walked over, took it out of the dummy, then went and threw it again, this time hitting the dummy's chest. He looked like this was boring him, like it was too easy for him.

ѕнєяℓσ¢к ♡ (mushroomlad) Fey entered a bit after Kayne did. His eyes were as wide as saucers as he looked around the huge training room filled with a lot of things – and people – that could kill him. He swallowed nervously and walked over to the camouflage station, hoping he would be good at it. He wasn't very good at anything. If he could just hide, then maybe he wouldn't die so quickly? He had no idea what he was doing, but just decided to go with it and started mixing colours together and painting them onto his face and arms.

ѕнєяℓσ¢к ♡ (mushroomlad) Apollo stalked into the training room, hair falling in his eyes, glaring at everyone and everything. This is BS. Showing off my strengths and weaknesses to my competitors? It's like I'm showing them just how to murder me. He huffed but walked over to the archery station, knowing he needed a good training score. He picked up a bow and took an arrow from the sheath next to him. He nocked his arrow, then shot it at the target, hitting dead centre. He fired another arrow, splitting the first one in half. He quickly got bored and began firing arrows into the outlined shape of a hand with its middle finger sticking up. He smirked in satisfaction at the finished product.

Elektra weighed the spear in her hands carefully, inspecting the tip and the build. She lifted it in one hand, eyeing the dummy in front of her. She knew where the vital organs were. Slowly, methodically, she drove the spear into the dummy's heart, frowning at the strength she needed - her skinny arms straining at the weapon. Then she backed up, tracking the distance, and threw it. It clattered against the ground, careening into the dummy; in the general torso area, but the only thing that would do was hit someone in the chest.

Queen Jenna the III (queenjennatheiii) | 260 comments Gabby walked in, fidgeting with her locket. These people were trained killers. Her hair was braided down her back, and she was wearing loosed black pants and a purple training shirt. She saw two girls brutally impaling dummies and made a mental note to stay far away from them. She walked over to the table of plants and started categorizing them.
Katniss. Primrose. Nightlock. Snakeroot. Oleander. Pine bark. Tea tree bark. Lily of the Valley. Wisteria seed pods. Elephant ear. English yew. Mistletoe.
She took the oleander flowers and ground them up with a mortar and pestle until it became a thick paste. She smiled to herself.
Poison. Good. Maybe this way I won't have to hurt anyone directly.

((Quick note: I know absolutely nothing about plants. Most of those plants are real, and I think Oleander is poisonous, but I don't know how to make the poison, etc., so I'm just gonna use a creative license and pretend that these things will work XD))

Apollo stalked into the training room, his face an impassible mask as he made his way over to the fire station of the training room. He had absolutely no idea how to build one and make it last more than a few pathetic seconds. He grabbed a stick off one of the tables and rubbed it against another branch, trying to create friction.

maggie - ✿ | 186 comments Deven walked into the room, his eyes slightly hazy. Morphling. That was the culprit. A rampant drug that took over the sixth district. It was hard to find somebody who wasn't addicted. He smiled his devil-may-care smile and moseyed on into the room. His training uniform clung to his muscular body and he had thrown on a flannel for full effect. Showing that he truly didn't care much about these games. Truth be told, he didn't care if he lived or died either. He had rolled up his sleeves, showing off a flurry of tattoos on his right bicep. The boy was rather peculiar looking, in a way that made girls swoon. He knew he was good-looking. He just didn't care much. With his black and white hair and strong jaw line and nose ring, he was a big hit with the girls back home. Deven wasn't here to win. He was here to find himself. He didn't care much if he died anyways. There was nobody to come back home to.

message 22: by maggie - ✿ (new)

maggie - ✿ | 186 comments A green haired girl bounced into the room after him. Dawn Jessie Cruz. The District 12 tribute. At the bottom of the social hierarchy, it would be hard to get an ally. She had to prove herself. At the ripe old age of 17, the young girl was full of life. Full of spunk. And for no reason at all. She lived in one of the poorest districts. She's known struggle. She's known pain. She's known agony. And yet she never let that show through. She walked over to the far right corner of the room, selecting a quiver of throwing knives as well as a bow and quiver of arrows before setting them aside, her gaze landing on the rock wall. Dawn giggled with glee. What fun! She headed over and grasped the wall, beginning to climb. The wall shook a few minutes in and she wrapped her legs up in the ropes, sticking herself fast to the wall.

ѕнєяℓσ¢к ♡ (mushroomlad) Apollo glanced over at Deven. He wouldn't make the worse ally. He seems like my kind of guy. It'd be a shame to kill him, though. Still... He set down his bow and tried to catch Deven's attention, gesturing for him to come over. He leaned lazily against a pillar, a casual smirk on his face. His black hair flopped in his face, the multiple piercings in his ears shining in the bright training room light. His hopes were that he could collect as many allies as possible while keeping up his tough demeanor. He was sure he wouldn't find any allies if he cracked and showed his emotional side.

Through the corner of his eye, he spotted another male. He raised his eyebrow but didn't say much. He needed allies anyway. It wouldn't hurt to have a few. He walked towards him and picked up a small sharp knife, holding it tightly and inspecting it. He reached into his pocket and popped something into his mouth, swallowing it. "You're the district 9 tribute aren't you?" He spent the majority of his time high but that didn't mean he was stupid. He had studied the other tributes with his mentor. Apollo Hendrix. His mentor had called him.. Deadeyes.

Queen Jenna the III (queenjennatheiii) | 260 comments Gabby saw a boy- Creed? The one from District 9?- try and fail to make a fire. She smiled. Maybe he could be an ally. It would be nice to have a few friends before she died. She saw another tribute, the male from District 6, walk over to him first, but she wasn't discouraged. She walked over anyway.
"I'm Gabriella Reyes-Martin," she introduced herself. "And you're doing it wrong."
She took two sticks from the table and rubbed them together very quickly. A spark quickly engulfed the sticks, and she doused the flame in a bucket of water.
"You just have to create enough heat for the sticks to spark. Not that fire will help you in the Arena, but it could be helpful just during life. If you're lucky enough to survive."

maggie - ✿ | 186 comments Pandora appeared in the room, wearing a black mask over the bottom half of her face. Her beautiful blue grey eyes looked around, stalking her competition. If she was nervous, her face didn't betray an ounce of that emotion. Make no bonds. Allies, sure. But no bonds. Bonds couldn't be broken easily. Slaughter them all, Reyes. Kill them and make your family proud. She could hear her instructor's words in her head again and blinked once, slowly. "Kill them all..." She muttered softly, her voice muffled against the mask. She was from District Two after all. She was a capitol favorite. She had the expectations of her father, of her district riding on her back. She could not fail. She wouldn't. She refused. She walked over to the table of weaponry picking up throwing knives and large spear, wielding it with grace. Her eyes looked around, searching for possible allies before landing on Elektra. Elektra Everfall. The female District 3 tribute. She could be easy to team up with. Though she didn't entirely trust her. But then again, she didn't trust very many of the tributes here. How could she? They all wanted to kill her.

Elektra picked up her spear, stabbing it through the dummy again, this time through the neck. Then she angled it between her hands abruptly, slamming the pole end into the dummy's head. That worked, too. She backed up again, tracking her footsteps. She lifted the spear, examining its angle, the space between her and the dummy, and the space she wanted it to hit. Then she threw.
It didn't land exactly where she wanted it - she'd wanted it to go cleanly through the chest. It hung out of the dummy's stomach instead. Not the most amazing hit; she could have been much better. But she wanted to get to other stations, too. So she put the spear back on its rack and walked away.

Creed turned to face the two tributes--the ones he couldn't even remember seeing, or hadn't even bothered to memorize their names. He wanted to throw the sticks on the ground and scream. Why was making a fire so freaking hard? He didn't want anyone to see his weaknesses but he needed allies. So, he swallowed his pride and faced the pair. "Huh, kinda got that I'm doing it wrong," he said, trying to keep the edge out of his voice. "Show me the right way…Gabriella?" He then turned to face the other guy. "What's your name kid?"

Amarissa walked into the training room, satisfied with her performance at the chariots. Her black boots clicked on the floor, walking over to the knives immediately. She wore a silvery leather jacket, her district number plastered on the front of it. They won't understand until the storm hits them. The intimidating scar on her face wasn't for show. Nothing that she did, in fact, was for show. Because they wouldn't understand. Not until they saw what she left behind. Amarissa fingered the knives until she found one that suited her best, barely pulling her hand back as she released it.
No surprise, it landed dead center.
Faster than you could blink, she whipped out four more knives, each of them landing in the exact same spot as the previous one. Cracking the handles of each of them until there was a chain of five knives lodged into the one before it. It balanced precariously, jutting out several feet from the target.
Nonchalant, she continued down the line of targets, letting knives fly.

"Deven Adonis. District 6." Deven crouched onto the ground, watching the way Gabby made the fires. Quickly but efficiently. She was definitely resourceful. Good to keep around. He picked up two sticks and began to rub them together, slowly and then quickly until they burst into flame, starting up a small fire which he put out with his foot. "Like this right?" Deven wasn't the worst at this. He had a lot of practice from back home.

Lavi glanced at the girl next to him. The same one from the nets. He went back to shuffling through his own cards, looking for something specific. She was from District Three, right? What was her name, Elektra? She seemed like the kind of person he’d want for an ally. Smart, sensible, quiet. He figured it couldn’t hurt to try. “Elektra, right?” He asked, not looking up.

Amarissa went to the poison section next, picking plants as she went with barely a glance. Oleander, hemlock, nightshade, and water. She took out a mortar and pestle, carefully smashing the three plants together. When they were sufficiently mushed, she put them into the brewing area and poured water inside. Soon enough, steam was rising as she stirred it occasionally, waiting for it to be done.
