Althea ☾ (themoonwholistens) | 1115 comments Welcome to the Hallowe'en Party Buddy Read Discussion thread! This thread officially opens on November 12th and anyone can join at any time. Please keep in mind that spoilers are allowed in this thread but only up to the group's current reading place. Do not spoil the book if you've read further than the group. Any extra days can be used to catch up!

Each day we will be reading by chapters or page numbers. Page numbers are an approximation based on the hardcover or paperback that is the default on Goodreads. The suggested Buddy Read discussion schedule is as follows:

May (theladymidnight) | 553 comments Since there's 27 chapters in the book, I was thinking of having a schedule of 3 chapters a day. If we read ahead, we can always hide the spoilers. How does that sound Michelle?

Michelle (shelbrenn) That works for me. Will start later today.

May (theladymidnight) | 553 comments So I just finished today's chapters. It's still the beginning, not much happened except for the halloween party and the death of the poor girl.

I am curious to know how Poirot will solve this murder mystery.

Michelle (shelbrenn) I am listening to it as an audio book. Figured an hour is 3 to 4 chapters. With you not much happened yet. Poirot is meeting with an old police friend from the area.

The Point books have have read before, which is only a few, you really have to pay attention to the little things and sometimes you just don't have to info to solve them. Love them though!!

May (theladymidnight) | 553 comments This is my first time reading a book by this author. I've heard good things about Poirot so I hope I end up enjoying it!

Okay I'll make sure to pay attention to the details!

Michelle (shelbrenn) I am about 3/4 of the way through. I still don't really know who it is, but I have a guess. He is still is interviewing people. Think that is most of the book.

May (theladymidnight) | 553 comments I just finished chapter 12.

Yeah I noticed that Poirot interviews a lot of people. I wasn't expecting this!

I am curious to see how whether the past crimes will end up relating to Joyce's death.

Michelle (shelbrenn) That is my guess also.

May (theladymidnight) | 553 comments I'm currently on chapter 20. My guess as of now is that it's the au pair.

Michelle (shelbrenn) My original guess was wrong. I thought it was one of the boys doing the mirror trick for the girls future husbands.

I finished a few days ago. Have so many buddy reads starting this week.

May (theladymidnight) | 553 comments Oh cool! What did you think about the book overall?

I'm going through this slowly but I'm planning to finish this by the end of the week.

Michelle (shelbrenn) It is always interesting to see the clues that I totally missed. This one was not very exciting in my opinion just him interviewing people. I have only read one other Peirot book. And then there were none is a good Agatha Christie book.

May (theladymidnight) | 553 comments Yeah it doesn't feel too exciting since he's mostly interviewing. I'll check out her other book some day!

I just read chapter 22 and wow I wasn't expecting Joyce's brother to be killed off the exact same way.

May (theladymidnight) | 553 comments Just finished this book. I thought it was decent. I was expecting more out of the story, so I was a little disappointed with how the story was written. At least the culprit wasn't obvious!

Michelle (shelbrenn) You rated it the same. Yes I liked it enough for a 3* but would recommend it for sure.
