The Hunger Games discussion

The foot of a huge stone mountain that gives off an orange glow. There's no grass, no trees, and plenty of random stones that you can use to climb up. However, some of these stones are not stable, so be careful!
(Can only get here from Burned Fields, Desert, and Mountain Peak)

Lilac ran to the base of the mountain. It was huge, but she had spent her entire life climbing trees, so how hard could it be? She looped the coil of rope over her shoulder and kept her hatchet at the ready, waiting for Azure and Helio.

Helio dashed towards her, sword at the ready. "Up we go?" He asked, ready. "As soon as Azure comes?"

Azure runs in, her hair in a compete mess, looking pretty terrified. She holds a sword and a blue vial, and her knee is pretty badly cut.
"I..I'm here," she breaths, eyes wide.

"You okay, Azure?" Lilac asked, concerned. "Did one of the Careers attack you?"

Azure sits down, which is actually more of a slump, then says: "I..I went for a cheap kill, y'know? Just to get the Capitol on my side? But the little bitch cut through my knee. I think i would've died if a Career hadn't killed her."
She snorts, realizing the irony in it all. "Saved by a Career, can you imagine?"

Lilac's eyes widened a little. "That..." She hesitated, and for lack of anything better to say, went, "That's a big oof, man." She turned and looked up at the mountain. "Well, we should start going up if we ever wanna get to the top." She said, starting to climb up.

Phillip runs to the base of the mountain, his head snapping up, as he contemplates scaling the thing. "Worth a shot," he mumbles, putting his foot at the base.

"Big oof?" Azure breaths, unsure whether to laugh or roll her eyes. She nods, and starts climbing the mountain. She wasn't the best fighter, agility was more her thing.
That might be why a fourteen-year-old almost killed you, she thinks sourly.
She advances up a bit quickly, but it is easy to tell she isn't a pro, not a Career.

Lilac saw Philip starting the climb, and she readied her hatchet. If this guy tried to attack her or her allies, he'd regret it.

Helio started up, used to this because of all of the days they spent climbing trees and hoking. He got up to the fairly quickly, a bit out of breath because of his scrawniness. He never really talked to people, so he preferred to stay silent.

Phillip reaches the base twenty minutes later. He is out of breath and sweating profusely but he keeps his sword clutched tightly in his fist in case of attack.

Matt stumbled and limped, dragging the lifeless body behind. Through sand-filled vision, he could barely see. His jaw set, Matt moved as fast as he could. Any tribute who saw them now would find easy kills. Them. Matt looked down at the person. It was the boy from before, the D11 guy. So he had saved him? Why? Matt shook his head. You could never question why; there would never be a reasonable answer. Like, why was he even helping this kid? Brushing his thoughts aside, Matt continues to stagger forward, heading somewhere, anywhere. A few times his coughing forced him to stop, but he continued to drag JJ along, trying to get somewhere safe.

Matt looked down. “Don’t thank me yet.” He said, wheezing. Another coughing attack stopped him in his tracks. After a few moments, the boy glanced up and finally saw the other tributes. “Oh no...”

Matt didn’t answer right away. He looked at the hand, then to the boy. Could he even trust him? “Fine.” Matt said finally. “Allies.” What did he have to lose? Matt knew he wouldn’t last long anyways, alliance or no.

“Wait!” Matt said sharply, knocking JJ’s bow to the side. “Don’t make more enemies than there are already.” He looked the the [[slightly inactive]] tributes across the area. Matt continued, softly, sounding doubtful at his own idea. “Nobody likes those careers, and so maybe we could form a pack of our own... There’s more of us, and maybe we could stand a chance...”

((Y’all realize that Philip, Azure, Lilac, And Helio are at the very top of a very tall mountain while you guys are at the very bottom right))

JJ nodded, and quickly got out his bow. He aimed at the boy (Philip) first, and shut his eyes. He breathed out, but couldn't let it go. He just kept thinking about if the boy had family and what not. He let his breath go... and didn't release the bow. "I can't do this." He said.

A loud rumbling shakes the arena, and suddenly bright red lava burst from the volcano with a loud boom. It quickly floods the burned lands and is now starting to flow into the base of the mountain. Since the sandstorm in the Desert is still raging, everyone in this section has two options - head to the Cornucopia and most likely be killed by the Careers, or try to climb to the top of the mountain.

“Come on. Move. Move!” Matt grabbed JJ and pulled him to his feet. “We have to get out of here!” He looked back and forth between their two options. Up or down. To the peak or to the center?

“Ugh.” Matt groaned, grabbing JJ by the arm and half-pulled half-dragged him up the mountainside. “We need to-” Matt was interrupted by a coughing fit, and bent over to catch his breath. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the lava advancing. Not good. Oh boy, this is not good...

The mountain starts to shake before completely collapsing, sending rocks scattering everywhere. Yeah. Gonna lock this topic now.
