I love the first line haha its so Jaron 😂 I also tried something I haven't done before and added an edition - the 2020 version which I much prefer to the old cover - so that's exciting too!
Has anyone else started it yet? I’m nearly done and it’s so good!! I found the military language a lot to process at first but I’m used to it now - can’t wait to see the ending 😅Also I wasn’t planning to, but I think I’ll buy the last book ready for next month as it won’t be in any libraries over here - so so excited!!
Not started yet here, but hopefully this weekend. 3 more days of work and then my nose will be in books through the end of the year. Can't wait!!
Started today, slow going but because I am also entertaining my kids while they are on break. Currently in bed ready to read all night if I feel the need. ;)
Stayed up until midnight last night just to get to the end. Yep, Jennifer A. Nielsen is absolutely on my favorite authors list. She sure knows how to capture her words and bring you into the story. I haven't had an adult book author do that for me in a long time. I don't know what it is about him, but I still have Mott as one of my favorite characters. My only dislike was that I thought the wrap up was way to quick. 1-2 paragraphs to each couple or person to tell what happened the following year. It was too quick of a write up when she could have gone into more detail. It was almost like she got to the climax and then didn't know what else to write, so she just plugged in a little quip about each.
The series could have easily ended at this book. I can't even imagine what she has in store for us in The Captive Kingdom.

It really was quite rushed and like those 'where are they now' portions of the TV shows haha but apart from that it was so good!
