I looked at their submission guidelines and I don't believe I'll be sending anything there.

I did not look at that aspect of it. I looked at it from a consumer's point of view. They publish works I'd be interested in reading.

Is it that they pay but 1 cent per word that puts you off them? I admit, that's rather paltry. Astounding and other magazines were paying that in the 1930s.

It's one small item in the sub guides, the bit about warrior woman and a necessary defense for why. That strikes me as distasteful. If I have a male character swinging around a sword, I don't have to go into why he's better at it or stronger than other men, but for a woman, they won't go for it without that kind of... justification.

Don't like it. Won't feed it.
