Hi! Sorry if I'm not allowed to make a topic lol BUT I had an idea where we could share the ways we organize our bookshelves and give other people tips. I am currently working on trying to make on of my shelves more ✨aesthetically pleasing✨ so if anyone has any ideas, that would be great!

Oh I like that I mean I don’t really have a specific style, I do it mainly by height, and I do a tetris style at random parts of my shelf so I can fit more books :)
yess i love that! my shelves are just a complete mess, but I really like organizing by height. It's so pretty to look at hahah
Yeah my books are just by genre right now and tbh it doesn't look very pretty at all. The problem is that the shelf that I'm focusing on is more tall than wide, so I can't stack books or anything. Ugh.
hm ok so i split mine up into sections: hardcover ya, romance (ya and adult), paperback ya, adult, and classics. for every section, i kinda just tried to match by height except classics. for the classics i just tried rainbow lmao bcuz all the editions are different heights XD and yeah i have some stuff on their side but it changes when i buy stuff and things shift :D
I have most of my hard covers together, if its a series i will keep it together and i have a whole shelf of paperbacks organized by height and color
I’ve had my shelf in rainbow order for months but I recently changed it to alphabetical order and I prefer it like that much more :)
I organized my shelf by height. And books by the same author are side-by-side. So I freak out when they are not the same size.
At the moment mines are by genre but it's still a mess! I'm trying to go through some of the books that have been on my shelf for like years so I can unhaul what I don't need. And that worked for a bit but ya know how it goes new books come in and your TBR grows. Anyway I tried having a shelf for just my TBR but then my siblings and I made a book tree for the hoildays and most of my books got used for that. And when we took it down all my books were mixed so I put them back by genre, but tbh I have too many books for my shelfs the way they are. I'd love some ideas!
Mine were by genre. Then I had them alphabetized by series. But it stssrted to look out of place and junky so my current shelves are my smallest paperback to my tallest paperbacks then my tallest hardbacks to my smallest hardbacks :)
Question. Do you guys removed the box of the box set before putting it on your shelf or do you keep it as is? I am curious to know.

Try leaving it in the books in the box for a week, then try them without the box for a week. After the two weeks see which one you liked better.
I hope this helps.

I haven't, but I'm sure there are people who do out there.
