I’ve been asked to set up a thread for some members who are wanting to read/discuss A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth in January 2021. Anyone interested may discuss the book here.

I agreed to read this as well, but I don't have a copy with me, and won't be home until the last of January. Sorry! I will catch up with you then--as long as it is, you may still be reading it by then

I am a long time follower of this list but this is my first time posting. I have been working through this list since 2008, but read so much slower than all of you that I have not posted. Reading 10 in a year is great for me (I read 9 in 2020). I thought reading such a daunting book while some of you are as well would motivate me to get through it, so I am reading along. We will see how many times I can renew this from the library. I am done with part 1 and really enjoying it so far.
Welcome Stacey! It is a pleasure to have you join us in reading 'A Suitable Boy.'We made a rough plan of reading it in January-March, but there is absolutely no pressure to stick to that schedule, everyone should be able to read at their own pace. To be honest, I myself haven't gotten very far yet...
Fingers crossed for lots of renews and happy reading!

I have AD issues and as much as I love reading I have found it easier for me to listen to audio books. I wanted to read this for so long and started it so many times but feel like I am spinning my wheels. I have been watching the BBC mini-series hoping this would help me with keeping things straight, after all, I made it through War and Peace using a combination of Audio, Cliff Notes, and the 1968 8-hour Russian movie. Worth every moment. Looking forward to the release!!
