Harry describes the Earl King as taller than human, his helmet hiding his face. When he reaches the table on the roof of Marcone's castle, he describes him as ordinary human size, his helmet set aside. Does the helmet make him appear more Sidhe and when it's off he appears more human? Or are they unrelated?
And for some fun, what headaches might Margaret Le Fey caused the Earl King? How would she being his mother explain his trip to his realm? Just the shared propensity for causing trouble?

I think it was stated before that Margaret leFey had been spending a lot of time in fairy, amassing knowledge of the ways like no other wizard before, that means she had also likely some run ins with the earl king. Pretty much everybody had reacted to her memories with a carts in amount of “oh oh”, letting me to believe that she had been more than a handful to deal with. I’m also pretty sure Harry is not the first in his family with authority issues. If young Maggie ever runs into the earl king into the distant future and proclaims who her father is she might elicit a similar reaction, that is if the earl king doesn’t just simp,y decide to run.

Now THAT'S a scene I'd like to see! Of course, I'm imagining young Maggie meeting the Earl King, and upon hearing who her father is, still getting that reaction. >:D

When they were on the roof and planning their attack, and Vadderung showed the locations of their forces on that sort of living map, did anyone else think, "Odin has a map of mischief!" Or whatever that map in Harry Potter was called. Am I remembering that one right?
Monica wrote: "When they were on the roof and planning their attack, and Vadderung showed the locations of their forces on that sort of living map, did anyone else think, "Odin has a map of mischief!" Or whatever..."It was the Marauder's Map and, yep, that same thought popped into my head when his map was being described... gallopin' gargoyles, those associations are strong! But Harry plus wizard will always conjure two whole sets of images and crossover is unavoidable. ;)
Red cap double agent, I think this ties in with Maeve being very bad at fulfilling her duties as Winter lady, so Mab assigned the red cap to watch her. With the red cap being a generally treacherous character that would work well. I think this shift in relationship to Harry also shows that Harry is getting pulled even deeper into winter. Former enemies suddenly becoming allies.

The Red Cap - so he was a double agent? How did that work? Not sure I got that. And I thought he was shorter for some reason. Did his description change?
