Camilla | 2124 comments Can I get a ruling for length for this book: Gauntlet Fall (hoping to be able to use it for the feather task). The only available edition is a kindle edition; Amazon gives the length as 340 pages.

Sorry, but even if it's a reflection, there are still 2 feathers on the cover.

Viji | 1608 comments 3. Collection - 16. Sonaja Otami Culture

Would Endeared (The Accidental Billionaires #5) by J.S. Scott be acceptable for this task?
It is a single jewelled feather.

Thanks.

Oh damn! That was totally my pick for this task! Because, you know, apparently I like to be difficult with my picks :)
Back to ye olde drawing board.

But, in my defense - I own the book on audible and the thumbnail really highlights the feather and not the reflection

There is no stipulation that the feather be an actual feather. Jewelry, ornaments, or any other depiction of a feather is fine.

That feather is gorgeous.

Yeah, that is what threw me. I had only looked at the thumbnail and later realized the reflection was there too. Bummer. I'm sure I will find a place for it.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21509 comments Raven Black (Shetland Island, #1) by Ann Cleeves - I think this one is out based on the response to Beth's book, which I had on my list. (This one is Ok'd for "raven" for museum 9 - collection though)

These are all other choices I found when gophering.
The Corset by Laura Purcell Feather (The Feather Trilogy, #1) by Laurie Lyons Wake of Vultures (The Shadow, #1) by Lila Bowen A Stone in My Hand by Cathryn Clinton A Thousand Nights by E.K. Johnston

Thanks a lot, Cherie.

Would any of these books work for this task?

1. Crown of Secrets (The Hidden Mage, #1) by Melanie Cellier 2. Charming as a Verb by Ben Philippe

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15795 comments We know as much (or as little) about a book from the blurb as you do viji. To me, it sounds like the first one is set at a school. The second one definitely involves school, but you'd have to read it to be sure enough of it is actually taking place at school.

Beth (eparks4232) | 2628 comments Gorgeous Book that ticks lots of boxes: The Murmur of Bees. I used it for About for card 38, set on farm ranch or plantation. But it has fruit on the cover (Museum 5, Collection), is set in Mexico and by a Mexican author (Museum 16, Location) is also originally in Spanish, translated to English (Museum 33, Location). It also has fruit and bees and sun on cover, so might work for some interactive tasks you invent. It is cool magical realism book.

message 25: by Jenn (new)

Jenn | 3060 comments For About - set in a school, college, or university, would you accept All the Bright Places? A chunk of the book is set in a high school, but a lot of the rest of the book is working of a collaborative school project for their US Geography class. Would that qualify, or are you looking for more solid class time?

That will work, Jenn. It sounds similar to the book I just read for that task, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder.

message 27: by Jenn (new)

Jenn | 3060 comments Awesome, thanks Janice, but now what am I going to read good girls guide for lol
Oh, right, the love of reading 😝

It would fit the man/woman team solving a crime task. I was going to read it for the set in UK task, but the North American issues were changed to be set in Connecticut. It is a quick read so if you decide to read it for the joy of reading, you'll be back on the challenge trail in no time.

I'm stumped on that one. The person looks like a woman, or a boy. I really can't tell, so I'm going to say no to that.
