Marie Claude (mariecg2001) | 1030 comments I would like more precisions for the Collection task:Read a book with a book(s) on the cover. When you say that "graphic depictions of books are not allowed", do you mean that just a vague depiction of books is not allowed or that the boook(s) must be life like or pictures? Would Midnight at the Bright Ideas Bookstore work?
Midnight at the Bright Ideas Bookstore by Matthew J. Sullivan

I've seen you use the word "precisions" a couple of times. I think you mean "decisions"? :)

I think you've understood what I require in the task. I gave an example of what I consider to be a graphic depiction of a book. I don't want any covers that look like that. What you've shown are actual books, and are perfectly acceptable.

It looks like a swan to me an I'm guessing that the pictures on the cover go with the titles in the book. One of the stories is The Six Swans.

Janice (jamasc) | 60734 comments Ayacchi wrote: "Is this a swan? Through the Water Curtain and other Tales from Around the World by Cornelia Funke"

Yes, it's a swan. My city is called "Swan City", and we have lots of them around both in the wild and depicted in signs, logos, and pictures.

The book looks interesting.

message 15: by Ayacchi (new)

Ayacchi | 1729 comments Oh thanks! There are some similar creatures so I wasn't sure. I haven't seen the contents, but the cover attracts me and since it's an anthology so I wanna give it a go

Amanda | 1846 comments For "book on cover", does this count as a book? Is it prominent enough?

The Bromance Book Club (Bromance Book Club, #1) by Lyssa Kay Adams

Sorry, it's too small and isn't the focus of the cover so it tends to get lost.

I don’t think I understood what the challenge was. I was thinking something different.

This is a better choice, I think. Those are stacked blue books.

Here's a prime example of what fits the task:
The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield

It's an excellent book, by the way.

Roz | 4607 comments I'm not really sure where I should ask this, but since the book I want to read will be attached to Museum 25, here goes.
For my Interactive Item I have chosen Crown for the Great King of Ardra c. 1664 Task: Read a book with a crown on the cover, or has a king as a significant character.

The book I would like to read is The Windsor Knot (Her Majesty the Queen Investigates, #1) by S.J. Bennett showing the Queen wearing her crown. My question is this, is the crown big enough for "the judge"?

If it's too small, I have a back-up.

Of course, it's even on our currency. We're all loony. That's why we call our dollar coin a loony, and our two dollar coin a toony.
