Museum 27. The Acropolis Museum in Athens


1. Location - Athens, Greece
Task: Read a book set in Greece, or written by a Greek author.

2. About - The monuments of the Acropolis have withstood the ravages of past centuries, both of ancient times and those of the Middle Ages.
Task: Read a book with a main page genre of mythology.

3. Collection - Hunting Dog Votive

Task: Read a book in which a dog is a significant character.

4. Interactive item - based on the Acropolis Museum in Athens.
Task: Your choice based on your selection from the collection. Required - link to the picture and explain connection.

for Location Greece

Most of the action revolves around Athens, with battles with the Persians at Salamis and Plataea - both identified as in Greece.

BUT one of the books GR pages say it is set in Persia. I have just finished it and feel more than 50% is Greece. Perhaps as much as 70% Greece

For setting tasks, you need at least 50%.

According to the book page, the location is identified as Athens (Greece) and Greece. We'll use that as the determination.

Till We Have Faces is set in a fictional version of Greece. Can I use it for the set in Greece task?

I am having trouble deciding if enough of A Thousand Ships is set in Greece to count for the Location task: set in Greece or written by Greek author. I am not far enough in to have a feel yet, for how much happens in Greece vs. Troy. Clearly the goddesses are Greek goddesses... Anyway, I would love a ruling. If it doesn't count for this challenge, I will use it for the monthly one.

I can't give a ruling on this book because all I have is the book blurb to assess. You are further along than I am. Why not read it and decide when you finish? If it's set at least 50% in Greece, you can use it for this task. If not, use it for the monthly challenge. It's nice when you have options.
