Lora Milton | 202 comments I've added a few to the bookshelf, War on Christmas (War on Christmas, #1-#3) by Edward Lorn Hark! the Herald Angels Scream An Anthology by Christopher Golden A Christmas Tale by Austin Crawley

I think it deserves a sub-genre, if only to get Krampus in here somehow.

message 2: by Peter (new)

Peter Topside Oh these look like tons of fun! Hark's cover had me laughing for a few minutes, lol.

Marie | 4073 comments I will add to the Christmas Horror list as I have some on my shelf that I have read and will be reading.

Here are the books I have read for Christmas Horror:

Collected Christmas Horror Shorts by Kevin J. Kennedy
Bah! Humbug! An Anthology of Christmas Horror Stories by Matt Shaw
A Christmas Tale by Travis Hill

And then these next four books are all by the author, Angel Gelique (they are a little on the extreme side just so you know)

1) Merry Murder by Angel Gelique
2) Merry Madness by Angel Gelique
3) Christmas Shopping by Angel Gelique
4) The Season of Giving by Angel Gelique

I am currently reading this Christmas Horror book:

The Horror Collection White Edition by Kevin J. Kennedy

Will be reading in December these two books as well:

Season's Creepings Tales of Holiday Horror by Ronald Kelly
and
The Christmas Bell A Horror Novel by L.A. Detwiler

Ann Schwader (annkschwader) | 168 comments And folks, don't forget your annual reading of H.P. Lovecraft's "The Festival." A genuine "I'll be home for Christmas" -- er, Solstice -- story, probably to be found online for free if you're curious.

You are so right. Best read when the wind and rain are lashing the windows, you are wrapped up in your favourite snuggly blanket and sitting in y our comfiest chair, book in one hand and a cup of something warming in the other - preferably with a roaring fire in the hearth. Maybe a cat on your lap too. Works for me :)

I loved this book! Crawley is one of the few authors I watch for new releases. The Halloween book is the best so far I think.

seemed like f o r e v e r.

If you like your holiday reading British & don't mind a cosmic horror slow burn, this might work for you, too.

Erika | 475 comments Twelve Slays of Christmas (A Christmas Tree Farm Mystery, #1) by Jacqueline Frost

This isn’t exactly horror, it’s a cozy murder mystery but I love this title and all of the rest in the series Lol

I like the hokey word play—no idea on the writing yet though (on my TBR)
Twelve Slays of Christmas
'Twas the Knife Before Christmas
Slashing Through the Snow
Stalking Around the Christmas Tree

Not my favorite of what I've read by her, but a pretty good novella length story all the same.

Adrienne L I'm currently reading Christmas and Other Horrors: An Anthology of Solstice Horror. Others I have planned include:

The Christmas Guest
Christmas Ghosts
The Winter Spirits: Ghostly Tales for Frosty Nights

I've got plenty of other non-Christmas specific, but wintry, reads lined up. I love this season. And I will definitely be re-reading some M.R. James.
