Christmas Horror
I will add to the Christmas Horror list as I have some on my shelf that I have read and will be reading. Here are the books I have read for Christmas Horror:
And then these next four books are all by the author, Angel Gelique (they are a little on the extreme side just so you know)

I am currently reading this Christmas Horror book:
Will be reading in December these two books as well:
and
My planned readings so far in december: Chill Tidings: Dark Tales of the Christmas Season

i added Chill Tidings to my list.
And folks, don't forget your annual reading of H.P. Lovecraft's "The Festival." A genuine "I'll be home for Christmas" -- er, Solstice -- story, probably to be found online for free if you're curious.
latasha, Have you ever watched any ofbthe BBc a ghost story for christmas?, Also if you like ghost stories with a clasdic feel, on youtube there is a short animated movie called one winters night, i suggest you watch it, its haunting in it beauty, and very creepy
Latasha wrote: "No I haven’t watched any of the BBC specials. Thanks for the recommendation! I will look it up!"They are wonderful, Latasha. I have a box set
Latasha wrote: "Yes! You can’t have Christmas horror without M.R. James!"You are so right. Best read when the wind and rain are lashing the windows, you are wrapped up in your favourite snuggly blanket and sitting in y our comfiest chair, book in one hand and a cup of something warming in the other - preferably with a roaring fire in the hearth. Maybe a cat on your lap too. Works for me :)

Thank you! Saw this a bit ago and am just about finished with Hark! anthology and is one of the best of the year for me. Will scan the thread for others and I may have a new Xmas tradition of horror reading/listening.

Santa Took Them was a thrilling twisted read for me last Xmas.
Highly recommended."
That looks promising!

I can't recall ever reading Christmas Horror before, but I got A Christmas Tale on sale and like it far more than I thought I would. I was actually genuinely spooked by one of the Christmas pasts!
I just finished The Horror Collection: The White Edition;https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...
Wasn't bad at all. :)

Thought I would revive this thread as Christmas is approaching and we could use some recommendations on some Ye Ole Christmas Horror.
When I was a kid, the time between Halloween and Christmas
seemed like f o r e v e r.
Now... that same time goes by in a blink.

I just finished Ramsey Campbell's Midnight Sun, which finishes up around the winter solstice & is definitely all about the cold time of year & the sun returning . . . or not.If you like your holiday reading British & don't mind a cosmic horror slow burn, this might work for you, too.

This one looks really good!
This isn’t exactly horror, it’s a cozy murder mystery but I love this title and all of the rest in the series Lol
I like the hokey word play—no idea on the writing yet though (on my TBR)
Twelve Slays of Christmas
'Twas the Knife Before Christmas
Slashing Through the Snow
Stalking Around the Christmas Tree
Lucky Girl
Not my favorite of what I've read by her, but a pretty good novella length story all the same.
"SNOWBALL" by Gregory BastianelliThis book is just a fantastic Christmas horror read! I so highly recommend and I don't think horror lovers will be disappointed. It was so good I plan to read it again!
Fun, Gruesome, Christmas, Non-stop Entertainment and I didn't want it to come to an end!!

This sounds great but my library doesn't have it, so I just requested them to buy it for circulation. Fingers crossed! =)

My town is barely big enough to call it that, but they're usually great at getting in the books I request. Good luck to you!
Just a few I could think of:Abominable Snowman
Bad Santas: and other creepy Christmas characters
Christmas Haunting
Christmas Tales of Terror
Spirits of the Season: Christmas Hauntings
Haunters at the Hearth: Eerie Tales For Christmas Nights
I'm currently reading Christmas and Other Horrors: An Anthology of Solstice Horror. Others I have planned include:The Christmas Guest
Christmas Ghosts
The Winter Spirits: Ghostly Tales for Frosty Nights
I've got plenty of other non-Christmas specific, but wintry, reads lined up. I love this season. And I will definitely be re-reading some M.R. James.

I think it deserves a sub-genre, if only to get Krampus in here somehow.
