Would The Secrets of Mia Danvers (Dangerous Liaisons, #1) by Robyn DeHart work for this task?

I am not sure whether only the first name should feature inthe title or the first and surname could work. I started reading this book for Musuem 1 but if it works for this task, I could read something else for the other task.

Thanks.

Kristie | 20302 comments That will work, Viji. It has her name in it and that is the only requirement.

Jayme | 5036 comments Hi Janice - For task: Read a book with a proper name in the title. This is restricted to a person's name. Are you considering a "proper" name the first and last name? Or just a name that is capitalized? I was thinking about using Miss Benson's Beetle, but wasn't sure if it will work.

Yes, to it being a person's name. And it can be either first or last name. Your book will work.

Funny, I am currently reading a book for an interactive task that would fit this task too. Both books would fit the collection task in Museum 35 too. (2 main words with the same initial in the title). I am reading Miss Buncle's Book.

Katrisa | 4771 comments For theme of music - can I use a book based on an album? Music is listed on the main page.
Clockwork Lives is the second book based on an album by Rush

Yes, you may, mainly because "music" is listed as mpg.

Katrisa | 4771 comments Can I have a ruling for set in Israel? I found the book
The Red Tent
on a list of books set in Israel - but as far as I can tell people don't know exactly where the events of Genesis took place.

According to WIkipedia, "Diamant acknowledges that there is no evidence that ancient Israel used a menstrual tent for retreat, although she describes it as a common feature in other pre-modern cultures, as well as some modern cultures."

So yes.

Yay! That one has been on my TBR for awhile.

Katrisa | 4771 comments I have one more candidate for set in Israel that I have to run by you Janice - will you accept a book set in Israeli-occupied Palestine?

Janice (jamasc) | 62369 comments Katrisa wrote: "I have one more candidate for set in Israel that I have to run by you Janice - will you accept a book set in Israeli-occupied Palestine?"

Let's keep it simple and restrict it to Israel.

Palestine is a bit of a sticky situation!

Sharon Hopper | 2600 comments I am wondering if Daisy Jones & The Six would qualify for the book with the theme of music.

"Music" must appear on the main page genre list, and it does. So you are good to go.

message 20: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15795 comments And it's definitely about music :)

message 21: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Hopper | 2600 comments Thank you. At the risk of sounding terribly dense, I am not sure what main page genre you mean. 🥴 I have looked at examples on the publishers page, but am not quite sure where I am supposed to be looking. Since I had looked at several books I knew had a musical thing, I thought I better just bite the bullet and ask.

message 22: by Marnie, Moderator (new)

Marnie (marnie19) | 3485 comments Sharon if you go to the the synopsis of your chosen book and scroll all the way to the bottom of the page it will show you where the book has been shelved by Goodreads users. If it’s on that first page of shelves it works. Hope that helps.

message 23: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15795 comments For me it's not on the bottom of the page, but on the right side of the page. It says 'Genres' on top, and is right under the section with 'readers also enjoyed'

message 24: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Hopper | 2600 comments And there it is! Thanks, y’all!

message 25: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 62369 comments When the challenge says "main page genre", the specified genre must be on the main page. If you click on the link "see top shelves", you've left the main page and those don't count.

Marie (UK) (mazza1) | 2397 comments Hi I am really struggling to get pictures of anything in this museum lots of links to printable educational materials but not very much else. I have found a link to the holocaust library https://library.yadvashem.org/index.h...

could l link to one of the publications?

There are lots of donated photographs but i feel like I am simply relating to place names

Whatever you decide is fine I will just have to keep on looking but I have been at this all day. The site has lovely photos of the building and large galleries but not many individual exhibits

I responded to this question in the Interactive help section. Sorry for the delay. I was away the last couple of days with follow up medical appointments.

Annerlee | 2889 comments For 'set in Israel' I'm hoping to read O Jerusalem in the Mary Russell series. It sounds promising but does anyone know if it will fit? Although I will probably read it anyway ; )

O Jerusalem (Mary Russell, #5) by Laurie R. King

The book page lists both Jerusalem and Palestine. That's not all that helpful since it needs to be 50% in Israel.

message 32: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21509 comments Annerlee - they spent a lot of time wandering around in the desert but since Israel was not established yet, I cannot say it was 50% there. They did visit Jerusalem briefly. This was my favorite story of the series for some time! The characters and “action” are terrific.

I am currently listening to the 17th book in the series.

message 33: by Annerlee (last edited Sep 08, 2021 03:50PM) (new)

Annerlee | 2889 comments I’ve just finished it and it’s definitely Palestine most of the time. I did enjoy it though, so that’s ok😊

17th!!! I didn’t realise there were so many! I have a few to go yet then. I can definitely see myself continuing with the series though. The more I read, the more I enjoy them. I especially like the different settings. Dartmoor and Palestine were both very atmospheric.
