This was a fun book to read - highlighting a lesser known fact that not everyone enters a career the traditional way. Her personality really comes through in her writing, and for me it's someone who would be fun to have a drink with after the dinner shift is over... I definitely related to the unconventional childhood and having to figure out who you want to be without much guidance. I think if you have an intrinsic love of quality food - not the fancy for show type of stuff but simple things cooked to their perfect potential, and perhaps a bit of nostalgia for 80's and 90's NYC, you would like this easy read.
