The book on your TBR list with the prettiest cover.

I don't know about you, but I LOVE judging books by their covers!!!

Of course, pretty will be in the eye of the beholder. What's pretty to you?

I've got my eye on The Stationery Shop by Marjan Kamali or Rainbirds by Clarissa Goenawan

Since TBRs are unique to each reader, I didn't create a Listopia for this.

Meg | 45 comments Too bad I read Wilder Girls by Rory Power this year.
This cover is sooooo pretty.

Practical Magic (Practical Magic #1) by Alice Hoffman

Tennessee Williams Mad Pilgrimage of the Flesh by John Lahr

message 38: by poshpenny (new)

poshpenny | 1935 comments Oh dear. After a year of doing NOTHING but sitting at home, I had a bit more money than usual. Online Christmas shopping has led me to order way too many books, for others and for myself.

Who on Earth knows what I'll end up with here.

message 39: by Heather L (new)

Heather L (wordtrix) | 780 comments Who here doesn’t know that feeling, lol? The enablers on this site don’t help. I do wish Amazon would go back to shrink wrapping books together to protect the covers instead of tossing them into the box haphazardly. One for my niece arrived with a bent corner.

Here’s hoping your new books will be with you soon. I ordered one last month that has been touring the country. It was in my city, then decided to visit Tennessee. After a couple days in Illinois, it returned to Wisconsin, but then went off to Chicago. As of yesterday it was supposedly back in Wisconsin and is to be here today—unless it suddenly decides to head west or maybe to Canada this time. Gotta live the competency of the USPS some days! 🙄 😐 🤣

message 40: by poshpenny (new)

poshpenny | 1935 comments Wow I hope it took pictures.

message 41: by Ellie (new)

Ellie (patchworkbunny) | 1792 comments I had the opposite problem with packaging this year, I wanted to support some independents so I did a few of my pre-orders with Goldsboro Books and they really overdo their packaging. Like I can understand if you bought a rare first edition, but just new books came wrapped in metres of bubble wrap, in a big box and they put plastic wrappers round the dust jackets too. It's actually put me off using them again because I don't like that amount of waste. Most books are fine in a card sleeve, I think it's more how the packer treats them when putting them in said sleeve, and I doubt Amazon gives them time to be careful.

message 42: by Heather L (new)

Heather L (wordtrix) | 780 comments Ellie — Okay, that is a bit excessive. I think wrapping all books together so the covers don’t get damaged is a good thing (as Amazon used to do), but each individual book in a shipment doesn’t need to be wrapped and then all of it wrapped again. With the three books that already came, they were with several other items and just tossed in the box haphazardly, no attempt to keep them from being damaged. Half the box was empty space with hardly any filler, so I am surprised only the one cover was damaged.

As I suspected, my missing book was not delivered yesterday as they said it would be. When I checked the tracking again last night, I had to laugh at the notice now posted, that shipping had been delayed, and that that was usually only a day, expect it in 1-3. One day?? It’s already been more than a week because they keep shipping it out of town once it gets here. At this point I’m not holding my breath.

Some others that haven't been mentioned I don't think:

Dreamland by Nancy Bilyeau A Thousand Nights (A Thousand Nights, #1) by E.K. Johnston Where the Forest Meets the Stars by Glendy Vanderah The Kingdom of Little Wounds by Susann Cokal

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig Midnight Library isn't the prettiest but I adore the neatness of the cover.

Alex | 11 comments So many pretty covers come to mind! Mostly books that I want to reread and then reread again! I guess those are the ones I am most inclined to remember: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Harry Potter, #1) by J.K. Rowling Dealing with Dragons (Enchanted Forest Chronicles, #1) by Patricia C. Wrede Searching for Dragons (Enchanted Forest Chronicles, #2) by Patricia C. Wrede Talking to Dragons (Enchanted Forest Chronicles, #4) by Patricia C. Wrede The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue (Montague Siblings, #1) by Mackenzi Lee The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy (Montague Siblings, #2) by Mackenzi Lee The Shape of Water by Guillermo del Toro Reverie by Ryan La Sala I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter by Erika L. Sánchez The Cat Who Wished to Be a Man by Lloyd Alexander The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle Otomen, Vol. 1 (Otomen, #1) by Aya Kanno Otomen, Vol. 3 (Otomen, #3) by Aya Kanno Mermaid Tales from Around the World by Mary Pope Osborne The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang Leo the Lop by Stephen Cosgrove Leo the Lop Tail Two by Stephen Cosgrove Home for a Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown The Chocolate Cat by Sue Stainton

And here are a few that I want to read for the first time: The Slippery Slope (Magdalena Gottschalk #2) by M. Gail Grant Guillermo del Toro's The Shape of Water Creating a Fairy Tale for Troubled Times by Gina McIntyre The Nobleman's Guide to Scandal and Shipwrecks (Montague Siblings, #3) by Mackenzi Lee Hero (Woodcutter Sisters #2; Books of Arilland #2) by Alethea Kontis Summer Heat (Imperfectly Yours #1) by Teri McGill

Also, since I love bunnies, any book with a cute bunny on the cover could easily fit this prompt for me! Or a dog! Or a cat! Or maybe a mermaid!

I feel like I could keep adding and adding! There are so many magical covers!
