I would recommend Edens zero or mashle. Edens Zero is like fairy tail (the anime) in space and are by the same mangaka and is quite fun! Mashle is harry potter meet one punch man and has funny moments as well as epic OP moments and quite fun!
Eden's Zero is on my TBR but then again what isn't. I've started both of Mashima's previous works, Fairy Tail and Groove Adventure Rave (Rave Master) and did not finish either.
I love fairy tail! and have read a lot of the spin off series of it. though not all of them. only read 1 volume of rave master but have been meaning to get back into it. Also. I've been telling myself literally since the 1st volume of Eden's zero came out that I need to read it. Still hasn't happened yet. lol. I've seen Mashle around a lot but didn't really look into it. But now I am definitely going to read it!
Not really after a recommendation more of a suggestion on order to read the Dragon ball series I read vol 1 a few years back and i've seen the first 50 episodes of the anime, i recently got a deal on all of the dragon ball z manga and picked them up and i'm thinking of starting them and wondered if it would be a major issue if i haven't read all of the dragon ball series first? cheers :)
I started looking into the dragon ball series a few weeks ago cause I wanted to read it. and from what I gathered u gotta read the original dragon ball series first. I think read the series in order of publication. but I could be wrong.
So Dragon Ball was published as 42 volumes in Japan. The first 16 volumes covered the original Dragon Ball then the time leap happens and DBZ starts from 17-42. In English it was published as 2 separate series. Dragon Ball Super is a Sequel series that is currently at volume 14. While I think you may be ok without reading the dragon ball arc and skipping to the DBZ segment but you’d be missing Goku’s upbringing and adventures with many of the Z Warriors as children.
50 episodes into the anime brings you shortly after the Saiyan/Vegeta story arc I don’t know which volume of the manga that would coincide with.
Also a note on Dragon Ball GT that is an anime only storyline that is not considered canon.

That's awesome thanks both of you for that, Everything i've seen and read of Dragon ball already i love so i'm going to take your advice and start at the beginning with the original dragon ball series, so i get the full experience. Cheers
Hi All, Need a bit of help with a Manga recommendation if possible, I saw my 8yr old Nephew the other day and he's obsessed with Beyblades and drawing at the moment and he was showing me some of his drawings and he said he had the idea from Tokyo ghoul 'monsters' he's never seen the anime or read the manga's as i think he is probably too young for that but he just saw an image and thought it was cool, but it did get me thinking maybe i could get him a couple of Manga volumes for Christmas. He's never read Manga before he does love reading though, just after any recommendations that you think are good entry manga series for a boy of his age? All the ones i can think of that might be ok when i flick through my copies i realise there is quite a few crude/pervy references or bad language which i have no issue with introducing him to but his mum would probably kill me lol. I've also seen that Beyblade do a manga but seems to be non existent in the uk. Any ideas? p.s i know I'm really ahead of this Christmas malarkey this year lol

Maybe Assassination Classroom too.

@Grace WorlandAssassination Classroom isn't a good choice for a kid and two I have already mentioned Naruto.
The blue wrote: "Try the Beyblade manga series or Yokai Watch."I'd not heard of Yokai watch but a quick google and it does sound like something he would enjoy so i may have to look into that. the Beyblade manga would be perfect for him but not sure if out of print or just not available in the uk as i cant find it anywhere for a sensible price uk amazon do have it listed but for some strange reason its the french edition lol

A recommendation for something a little different A Bride’s Story
It’s extremely interesting series that focuses on the cultures of the semi-nomadic tribes of Persia. Customs, art, food, war, weddings, horses, sheep, falconry, falconry on horseback with golden eagles. If nothing else I recommend it because this series is BEAUTIFUL. I was hooked after the chapter about woodcarving in book one. I will say that it’s not specifically for adults, but there is some nudity, so be aware.

@ EvelynBtw I heard of it before when I was looking at Red River and From Far Away. I LOVE those types of manga art.
I think you can't go wrong with most of the shonen jump titles since he falls into that demographic. Fairy Tail, One Piece, Naruto, and Rurouni Kenshin are all good ones. Jujutsu Kaisen may be a little to graphic but if ghosts and demons are what interests him he may enjoy it.
Yokai Watch is based off a video game as was the anime. It's essentially a Pokemon clone with ghosts. In that regard their are a lot of good Pokemon manga available as well.
I think most of the content for these titles should be fine. Not sure on the reading level required though.

Awesome cheers Fairy Tail is a good shout as well i’ll check that out cheers for all the suggestions everyone all of these interest me as well so gives me an excuse to test a few volumes before grabbing him one lol
Justin wrote: "Hi All, Need a bit of help with a Manga recommendation..."The Warrior Cats mangas might be a good fit. Most of them are fairly short (only about 100 pages) and don't have more than 3 volumes to each story. They also recently came out with a few omnibuses and full color volumes. They read L-to-R so it should be easier for a graphic novel beginner.
You might also consider the Kingdom Hearts manga if he's into Disney. Or any other Disney brand manga, like Big Hero 6.

I've never heard of the Warrior Cats Manga series but as a massive usagi yojimbo fan the name straight away has me intrigued and also made me reminisce on a tv show i use to watch as a kid Samurai Pizza Cats lol it to my list t check out cheers.
don't worry as much as this groups recommendations have never let me down in the past I'd never give my nephew anything I've not checked out myself first and hey its perfect excuse to read more manga lol

I needed a break from all the non stop action in all the shonen manga I've been reading recently and decided to pick up Flying Witch and I wasn't disappointed If you're a fan of the Ghibli movie Kiki's Delivery service then this is for you, can't recommend this Slice of life comedy feel good manga enough even after the first volume. Flying Witch, Vol. 1

Hi guys. I just finish a really sad 😢 book and desperately need a good funny manga any recommendations.
Hello. I don’t know where it’s better to ask, but have anyone read From the New World manga? I loved anime, but the cover of manga and reviews worry me. I just wanted to ask whether “mature” part of this manga is overwhelming, out of place or have something that is best for other to not see (most likely no one will misjudge me, but still)? And if it closely, or even in more depth, follows plot that is seeing in anime?
From what I read on MangaUpdates the anime doesn’t follow the manga completely and the manga has a lot more Yuri Fanservice.
It’s a horror, where people have magical powers (but those who don’t develop, have weak or uncontrolled powers, disappear as well, as all memories of them ever existing). It’s pretty atmospheric at the beginning and in the end. But if anime focuses on same-gender relationship as part of plot, in manga it’s just a fanservice and does seem out of place. And, honestly, I think, it did ruing manga. I would rather have Pygmalion manga (about mascots, which plot was inspired by Pygmalion mythology) on my shelf (and wanted, but it only has French and Spanish editions, and I didn’t learn neither of them). It has mature content, but at the same time it’s something that I do feel comfortable having
