Just finished reading these chapters and wow! It was crazy the events that happened!

(view spoiler)[ First off, I applaud the author for tackling real world issues. Whenever I see any of the characters say racist stuff towards Bree, it makes me so angry. It's unfortunate that she has to deal with this (I've only ever lived in the North of the US and never had to deal with racist comments, can't believe that there's people in the South who are still racist), but I'm glad she's able to handle it. If someone said those comments to me, honestly I'd fight back.

I liked learning more about root craft and the history behind it! Traveling through past memories of the dead was interesting. When she learned that Merlin's like Sel are part Shadow born, I ended up laughing. It's ironic how Sel was convinced that Bree was a shadow born when he is one all along....

Also, there was a lot of Nick and Bree moments! I had a feeling from the beginning that they'd fall for each other.

Lastly, I can't believe the trap Sel set during the scavenger hunt!! He set hellhound after her, hoping she'd confess!!! This guy is waaayyy too paranoid and is annoying me. I was glad when he finally started to believe Bree and no longer viewed her as a threat. (hide spoiler)]

These chapters were intense at times but very fun to read! I'm tempted to continue reading tonight!
