I know I'm generalizing but most people that are into manga and anime are usually into Video Games as well. So stop by and tell us what you're playing or just chat about video games.

I am currently playing Assassin's Creed Valhalla on the PS5 and am loving it. I've really loved the open worlds that they've created for Assassin's Creed these last few games.

I'm also finally going through Pokémon Shield. I've had it since it released but I never got around to it. It's fun but honestly it's a bit on the easy side even for a Pokémon game.

On my phone I'm constantly doing picross puzzles on an app called nonogram.com I know stupid name but I'm addicted and there's constantly new puzzles with out too many overbearing ads.

Are you playing Assassin's Creed on a PC or on the Ps5?

message 4: by Greg, Slime Knight (new)

Greg | 1117 comments Mod
On the PS5. I’m a big Playstation guy and a trophy hunter. I was lucky enough to get my system directly from Sony on day 1.

My brother actually works for Sony Santa Monica as the lead QA for the God of War series. He helped hook me up with a bunch of games.

i was also playing Assassin's Creed Valhalla! But cannot seem to finish it since I cannot move on from the events of The Last of Us 2

I enjoyed TLoU 2. It didn’t deserve the hate it got. It definitely wasn’t the best game this year though.

message 7: by Alisha (new)

Alisha | 12 comments Oh wow. I have never played action themed video games. Just some games on my mobile.

I own a Switch so I play Overwatch and (because I'm a sucker for Mario games) Paper Mario: The Origami King. It's had a decent plot so far but not the best combat system.

message 9: by Greg, Slime Knight (new)

Greg | 1117 comments Mod
Origami King is fun but yeah the battle system is more puzzle game than rpg. I enjoyed it but never finished it.

I really enjoyed the gameplay in TLOU2 but the story was a bit of a down side for me. A LOT of people hated it because of a certain character's death. I heard hbo gave it a go and the tv show is being produced.

message 11: by Greg, Slime Knight (new)

Greg | 1117 comments Mod
There are no likable characters in the game that was my biggest problem.

message 12: by Greg, Slime Knight (new)

Greg | 1117 comments Mod
Hope the TV shows decent but I’m not holding out hope. I played through both games a couple times. Got my platinum trophy for the 2nd game.

the part one was better, it was my favorite game ever growing up. I also understand the reason why they kill since it's an apocalyptic universe, you need to kill in order to survive. more like of a survival to the fittest that is why I don't really get the concept of the part 2

I enjoy Kingdom Hearts and the Lego video games. I also play Skylanders and Soul Calibur. I am behind in all systems though. PS 2, Xbox360 and Nitendo 3ds. I'm thinking about going for an Xbox 1 but not entirely ready to jump on it...

message 15: by Shawna (new)

Shawna Finnigan (sugoishawn) | 41 comments I'm currently playing MarioKart 8, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Spiderman PS4, Minecraft, and Fortnite

message 16: by Greg, Slime Knight (new)

Greg | 1117 comments Mod
Good Stuff Shawna. I've played a ton of Animal Crossing. I really need to play those spider-man games I've had them forever now but haven't played them.

Currently still playing Assassins Creed Valhalla and Rocket League with my buddies. On top of that I'm doing another playthrough of Chrono Trigger (DS Version this time)

Any other fans of old school JRPGs?

message 18: by david (new)

david Wood | 177 comments working my way through final fantasy 9 on the switch really love how the game looks and sounds. brought me back to when I 1st played it right away. amazing nostalgia hit.

message 19: by Greg, Slime Knight (new)

Greg | 1117 comments Mod
Final Fantasy 9 is the best in the series after the SNES Era. 6>4>9 would be my top 3.

I’m finishing up my Platinum Trophy on Valhalla I have about 125 hours on it now. The game is a freaking beast. I also started playing The Survivalist with my buddies that’s a lot of fun if you’re into survival or crafting games.

message 20: by david (new)

david Wood | 177 comments I never got the hype about FF7 I started on 8 after my mum bought it for me then went back and played the old games. i just wish there were more hours in the day to play games.

message 21: by Greg, Slime Knight (new)

Greg | 1117 comments Mod
Truth!

7 is honestly one of my lesser liked FFs. After 6 the story just disappointed me. The characters were meh and the story was convoluted as hell. I played the remake it was ok not terrible not great. 8 and 9 were better games. 10 was only ok and other than the remake I haven’t finished one since. Dragon Quest is more my jam.

message 22: by david (new)

david Wood | 177 comments I have FF15 day one edition sitting unopened because it just know it's not going to be as good (yet I keep buying them) I have never tried a dragon quest game they are on the list though

message 23: by Greg, Slime Knight (new)

Greg | 1117 comments Mod
I do the same thing David. But them all regardless. Dragon Quest is a lot more grindy but sticks to the turn based system. Generally speaking the stories aren’t as “deep” they’re more traditional fantasy fare. More whimsical and humorous.

message 24: by david (new)

david Wood | 177 comments are they stand alone story's? could pick up any one and not be lost?

message 25: by Greg, Slime Knight (new)

Greg | 1117 comments Mod
You can play them on their own. 1-3 and 4-6 are very loosely connected but absolutely not required to play in order. 1-4 were originally NES games so they are very bare bones. Though 4-6 had really well done remakes on the DS and are also available on iOS which are more typical of SNES era so a lot like FF 4-6. 7 is a giant game and doesn’t offer a ton of direction so maybe don’t start there. Your best bet is to honestly to start with 11 since it’s on all the modern systems unless you’re feeling more old school I. Which case I’d recommend any of the 4-6. 8 and 9 are fantastic as well but more limited in how to play them. 8 is on PS2 and 3DS and 9 is on DS only.

message 26: by david (new)

david Wood | 177 comments guess that's next month's paycheck taken care of now. thanks for that though it's hard to start a long series like that

message 27: by Greg, Slime Knight (new)

Greg | 1117 comments Mod
David do you play a lot of RPGs or just here and there? Do you prefer more modern or more old school?

I updated to an X Box One S and got Kingdom Hearts 3. I want The Outer Worlds but can not find it!

message 29: by The Book Dragon (new)

The Book Dragon (restel) | 200 comments I'm playing Pokemon Heart Gold on my old Nintendo DSlite because I've never finished a Johto playthrough before. And even now, I'm getting distracted playing Immortal Fenyx Rising on my Switch. Imagine Breath of the Wild, but Greek.

Are you just looking for one in a local store? I'm sure Amazon has copies. Though I just got my copy digitally.

I'm eager to play it as well though I did Assassin Creed Odyssey (their last game) a couple months ago so I just spent 150 hours exploring Greece and Atlantis so I may wait a bit. Also Heart Gold is such a great game. Gen 2 is probably my favorite series of Pokemon games.

So far, I've only completed Gen 1, 3, 4, and 8. Out of those, Hoenn is my favorite, but I love the aesthetic of Galar.

The only Gen I haven't completed a main game in is 6. I need to go back and do X/Y eventually.

Do you play in legends mode as well?

message 37: by david (new)

david Wood | 177 comments sorry Greg wasn't paying attention there. I don't play many RPGs really prefer a quick sit down and play game. I used to help run a retro gaming event in Glasgow so absolutely love the old school stuff but I try keep upto date.

That's Awesome! We have Midwest Gaming Classics here in Milwaukee it's a blast. though obviously not last year and probably not this year either.

JB no I just stuck to normal. My buddy poo-pooed me for playing with the English dub but both were excellent as well.

Oof I misunderstood you. I did play legends mode. I got one class "Ronin" to level 20 and finished all of the 2 player missions on Normal. Legends mode didn't drop until after I finished the game so I was on my way out of the game at the time.

message 41: by david (new)

david Wood | 177 comments I have heard of Midwest always a few things come out of it each year nothing like Portland though. it's on my bucket list to come over and check out the retro stuff over there.

I finished my platinum trophy on Assassin's Creed: Valhalla last week. I finished but haven't got the platinum trophy yet for The Survivalists and am having a lot of fun with that one.

I've also been playing a hefty amount of Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town on my Switch Lite. Which has really cut into my reading time......

Also decided to take the way back machine and fire up my PS3 to do a run of the original Assassin's Creed since it's been 15 years.

message 43: by david (new)

david Wood | 177 comments assassin's creed 2 is one of those games I wish I could forget so I could play it again for the 1st time!

currently playing bonfire2 on my phone fun world builder/survival game for £5 think that's about $7 US but so far well worth that price

Half heartedly playing Illusion of Gaia on an SNES emulator and Celeste on my PS5.

I just finished a play through of Man of Medan with my buddy. That was pretty fun. We'll probably do Little Hope next.

Next week Bravely Default II comes out so I'm hoping I manage to find some time for that one.

message 45: by Emily (new)

Emily Stipkovich I heard so much hype about Uncharted 4 that three months ago I went and bought 1,2 and 3 to play first. It was a wild ride starting with a 2007 game, but it's honestly the best series. I've just started Uncharted 4 today and I'm blown away, I can see why it won so many awards.

I also play Hades.

message 46: by david (new)

david Wood | 177 comments I think I have the uncharted games in my pile of shame might need to move them to the top of the pile now.

message 47: by Emily (new)

Emily Stipkovich If you like adventure/action story line games (like Last Of Us) you will love Uncharted. Nate's (the main character) humor makes me laugh out loud so much. :D

message 48: by Justin (new)

Justin (jbradley86) Love the uncharted games, I’ve got an 11 month old so
getting gaming time in at the min is extremely challenging but because its the 10yr anniversary this year i started a new skyrim play through which its easy to dip in and out of just because I’ve played it so many times, i’ve got the demo for the current dragon quest game on switch that i want to start as well as I’ve heard that if you buy it you can carry over your save from demo so want to check that out.

message 49: by Justin (new)

Justin (jbradley86) I also love all the pokemon games and when I’ve completed them i like to replay them doing a nuzlocke challenge. I started a nuzlocke on pokemon sword a few weeks ago but not picked it up again yet. So much i want to play lol

The Naughty Dog adventure games are all top notch. I've played the 4 main Uncharted games but not Lost Legacy though I do have it. The Last of Us 1 and 2 were good as well.

Emily wrote: "I also play Hades."

I love Supergiant games. I played the hell out of Pyre. I'm just waiting for a Playstation release of Hades before I jump in.

I am still currently on Celeste and just started Bravely Default II.
