Just finished reading: "The Starboard Sea" by Amber Dermont (★★★☆☆), it is a coming-of-age (which could have gone under #45) mystery set in the late 1980s about a troubled teenage boy's hopes for a fresh start after transferring to a third-rate New England prep school.

Dermont is a competent storyteller, but the novel often feels like little more than a series of anecdotes about privilege and impunity than a homogeneous novel.
