My mum's cousin has loaned me 3 books by gervase phinn that will be my 1st 3 of the yr. All talk of his experience as a school inspector in the Yorkshire dales. I have managed to fit them to 3 separate prompts
My brother suggested I read The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie several years ago. I will check it off my list this year! And I love Maggie Smith, so will watch the movie after I am done!
Just finished
A modern classic of German children's literature, unfortunately with all the gender sterotypes of its time. But otherwise I enjoyed it.
Completion Post:Just finished reading: "The Starboard Sea" by Amber Dermont (★★★☆☆), it is a coming-of-age (which could have gone under #45) mystery set in the late 1980s about a troubled teenage boy's hopes for a fresh start after transferring to a third-rate New England prep school.
Dermont is a competent storyteller, but the novel often feels like little more than a series of anecdotes about privilege and impunity than a homogeneous novel.
Felix Ever After - Kacen Callender
If you haven't already you must read The House in the Cerulean Sea. It was one of the best books I read in 2020. Also Admission is going to be my pick for this prompt.
Some suggestions for this prompt::Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer
Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
Ghost Boys by Jewell Parker Rhodes
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
I'll be reading The Lying Game, by Ruth Ware for this one!
