Jessica wrote: ""Gone with the Wind" by Margaret Mitchell"My thoughts exactly, but I can't mange a reread because of this and I loved this when I was growing up.
Henry and the Paper Route by Beverly Cleary. Ramona Quimby is definitely selfish! Of course, she's 4 years old, which explains it!
The Ballad of Snakes and Songbirds by Suzanne Collins, because Snow is one of the most selfish people. i've see
I'm reading The Bad Seed. but also I realized that I am currently (just to finish the series) reading Dexter Is Delicious and Dexter is quite a selfish character himself!
I finished reading Ickabog (J.K. Rowling) to my kids last night. That lord Spittleworth is pretty selfish.

Frankenstein: The 1818 Text"
I totally agree about Frankenstein. The doctor is so selfish. I can't believe he just leaves his creation to fend for himself.
I read "Baby Teeth" by Zoje Stage and felt that the mother Suzette and the daughter Hanna were both selfish.
I read
It was a very engaging multip POV read with a few twists. Mr. Wright is a very selfish character

Completion Post:Just finished reading: "Gone with the Wind" written by Margaret Mitchell (★★★★★) it is historical fiction romance, which centers on the struggles of young Scarlett O'Hara, the spoiled daughter of a well-to-do plantation owner, who must use every means at her disposal to claw her way out of poverty during the American Civil War and Reconstruction Era.
Mitchell has accomplished an astounding feat in creating a narrative that encompasses nearly the entire spectrum of emotions in the human experience, all while critiquing southern society, stereotypical gender roles, class, and other issues during the Civil War and Reconstruction Era of American history.
I’m slotting Daisy Jones & the Six into this category, now that I’ve read it. Billy is maybe the most selfish character? But none of them come out looking great, except maybe Graham, Pete, Rod and Simone. Others who read this - what do you think? Is it a good fit for the prompt, or should I put it somewhere else?
Just finished Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart. It won the Booker Prize in 2020 and it's about Shuggie's struggle of growing up with an alcoholic mother in the schemes of Glasgow. I would highly recommend it.
Love Your Life by Sophie Kinsella. The main character is pretty selfish. I usually love Kinsella's books, but this one wasn't a favorite. 3 stars.
I read Lost in Oaxaca by by Jessica Winters Mireles. Last year I could have used this for the "local author" prompt.
A Room Made of Leaves by Kate GrenvilleThis story shows different types of selfishness from one person's selfish narcissism to anothers guilt over being selfish in holding something for themselves. It's an interesting look at how it may have been in the MC's mind, even though the letters she sent through real life history say something completely different.
