Kim (kimstories) | 9 comments I am panning to read as many non-fiction books for this challenge as possible - with the added desire to keep the straight white cis men contributors as limited as possible.

Any suggestions as you all discover books would be great - and I will add books and authors as I find them too

Jen K | 91 comments Me too.

Heart Berries would work for prompt #3 A book that has a heart, diamond, club, or spade on the cover.

Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents would work for #15 A book with a black-and-white cover.

Books and Islands in Ojibwe Country, The Pale-Faced Lie and Rez Life: An Indian's Journey Through Reservation Life are great non-fiction options for #16 A book by an indigenous author

You Don't Have to Say You Love Me works for #17 A book that has the same title as a song though there is definitely some controversy with Sherman Alexie

There are lots for body positivity as well. Will come back with more later.

Natasha | 66 comments I really enjoyed Samantha Power. Education of an Idealist. She was a reporter and then worked on Obama’s campaign and eventually was the ambassador to the UN, so could work for a job post. Could also work for passion...if you’re into international relations/politics. She goes into a lot of detail about Ebola too.

Natasha | 66 comments Another good one is You’ll Never Believe what Happened to Lacey. It’s hilarious, but also social justice as it is all about race. It also came out in 2021.

Natasha | 66 comments Sorry. Samantha Power would also take place in many countries, and she was born in September 21. So Virgo.? I think it also has 3 generations.

Teri (teria) | 1553 comments I just finished Where the Light Enters: Building a Family, Discovering Myself by Jill Biden. I'm using it for #33 three generations, although it really covers five generations. It's pretty good.
