Thanks Dagny; great plan (I see that in the intro now 😁).
Thanks again.

2. Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Mass
3. Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Mass
4. A Court Of Thorns And Roses Series by Sarah J. Mass
5. Ready Player Two by Ernest Cline
Still working on my TBR for 2021 by these are some of the title I am planning to read in the first 3 months.
Any recommendations are welcome!

Hello all! Happy New Year! As I try to "plan" some of these months, can you explain what July's challenge is please.

Heena is still working on the specific games for that month. Instead of the Dystopian Genre Challenge in July, we will be doing game challenges, such as “read a book of any genre that has a color in the title.” (That may or may not be an actual challenge. I’m just giving a hypothetical example of what a game might look like.) It looks like there will be more than one game challenge you can pick that month, so you can find many books to fit just one, or one book for each game, or mix it up. Heena will explain it more specifically once she has decided on the game challenges she wants to use that month.

Happy New Year, guys. As Cheryl explained the Game month is a fun month in which we will be reading multi-genre books. Cheryl, Dagny and I are still working out the games so any recommendation is welcome!
So far we have planned to have 4 games - one game per week. As Cheryl's example demonstrates, we'll be posting 4 challenges or games and books have to be picked up accordingly - from any genre.
We'll have the final list of the games up in a week or two (max.)
We introduced the game month because most of the participating members in genre challenge find the month of dystopian fiction a little slow and bland, therefore to spice it up Cheryl came up with this awesome idea. Also, I think that it'll be a great deviation and a break from the normal challenge. Mid-year months anyway seem a little boring at times, so this will definitely keep up our reading spirits!

Hi Beth, thanks for the reminder! Please see the next comment for the Game Month in July.
Attention Everyone
For the month of July, we are going to have a new and exciting challenge this year - Game Month. For this challenge, we will have 4 separate challenges for each week of the month of July. And the challenges or games are as follows:
Week-1: Read a book of any genre with a number in the title. The number can either be written out (i.e. one) or just the numeral (i.e. 100) or it can be a cardinal number (i.e. 1st, 2nd or first, second, etc.)
Week-2: Read a book of any genre by an author whose initial (first name, last name, or both) is the same as yours. You don't have to give your real name to participate, just the initial you are choosing to match with the author. Also, you can match the author's first name initial with your last name initial, and vice versa.
Week-3: Read a book of any genre that's set in a place that you'd love to visit. You can pick either one location and read multiple books with that setting, or you can pick more than one location and read a single book set in each one. Imaginary or unbelievable places are also allowed (i.e. the moon or Narnia )
Week-4: Read a book of any genre with the main character you'd like to have as a friend. Let us know why you'd like that character as a friend (i.e. they'd be a lot of fun to be around; they'd be a faithful friend and never let you down).
Please note that these brilliant ideas were contributed by one of our amazing moderators - Cheryl.

After the unexpected, unapologetic, unprecedented and, quite honestly, crazy year that 2020 was, I hope that RMFAO continues to be a that pillar on which we all booklovers can lean and take a little time for ourselves and our souls and talk about books.
We are here with the 7th instalment of the most amazing reading challenge on this planet *drumrolls* - RMFAO's Genre Challenge.
For the 7th year of this challenge, we have 17 awesome genres and a special surprise planned for the month of July, so stay tuned!!
For those who are new to this challenge, for Genre Challenge, we read one genre every month (sometimes two when we have the alternate-genre months.) We post the genre list in advance (for this year's genre list see below) so that we can plan our reads in advance. The focus of this challenge is not only to read more books in the genre we love but also to give us a chance to explore new, unfamiliar or lesser-known genres, not to mention the joy of reading with other book lovers and exploring new titles that they love and adore.
We don't want to burden or restrict the participants by specifying sub-genres because that creates a very different set of its own problems that will hinder the actual reading. Therefore, you can pick the sub-genres as per your convenience.
Another perk of this challenge is that you don't have to buy new books to participate in this challenge; all you have to do is go through your own books and organise your TBR-list as per the genres for this challenge.
Another one of the coolest things about this challenge is that the modtoreras are super awesome sharing tons of resources and recommendations. What else can a bookworm ask for!?
In order to participate, simply announce your participation here (you even blog about it if you want to.)
