4 (Four)
Read a book that either:
- has a 4 or Four in the title
- has a title starting with F
- has an author first name or surname starts with F
- has a character with a first name, surname or nickname starting with F
- is set in a place name starting with F ; or
- is book 4 in a series

2 (Two)
Read a book that either:
- has a 2 or Two in the title
- has a title starting with T
- has an author first name or surname starts with T
- has a character with a first name, surname or nickname starting with T
- is set in a place name starting with T; or
- is book 2 in a series

Read any book!

There's nine of us in this group but only 7 cards in the hand so whoever doesn't read in this hand will get first pick next hand.

What is the best way to choose these? First come first served?

I have chosen the following for hand 1:

Pepperpots, which card did you choose? You only need one book, or is that what you are going to choose from?

ahem...I thought you had to read a whole hand. *blush* So I only need to read 1 book and not all for one hand?

No, we read the whole hand as a team. But one each. There are more hands that we can do in the month but we need to finish this one first.

There is upto 108cards/books we can read in a month, we get 7 at a time and read them between us before me move on.

Sorry if that wasn't clear. if you look at comment two in this you can see the hands we will be doing. I have a version that I can edit and will update it when we read them.

Can I also ask for the reason the book is being selected i.e. For option one - the author's name starts with O or is set in Oslo, etc, just in case it isn't apparent.

First come, first served will probably be the easiest way to do this.

It should be fine, there'll be plenty of chances for you to read that later in the challenge. I have one sitting on my shelf that would work as well :)

We are only planning hand one just now, but once that is decided we will start planning hand two ready for us. I think it will get far too complicated of we try and plan them all, But if we can get this planned by today or tomorrow we should have hand two planned before we start reading hand one on the first of feb.

Is it okay that I'll just read the book I'm currently reading, Scorpion Mountain, for "wild draw four" ?

Hi, Coco and Pepperpots I have put them in for you. Jeanine hope it's okay I have put you for 4 instead of wild draw 4. The authors last name is Flannagan so it fits. Just to give more freedom to the last person. Hope that's okay.

The last person can read any book. If no-one else responds by the 30th of this month I will choose one and read it myself.

Otherwise myself and the one other person who did not get to read in this round get first pick next hand.

@Everyone, Hand one is complete. You need to finish the book after the 1st of Feb for it to count towards this challenge. You also need to tell me when it's finished so I can fill in the form. If you change your mind on a book that's fine as long as it still fits the category you chose and you tell me after which book you read.

We will start deciding what to read for hand two now. Remember we cannot read any book for hand 2 until everyone has finished reading their book for hand 1.
