Helloo, hellooo. Vicious Spirits time!!!
Suggested sections:
Section One: Chapters 1-6
Section Two: 7-13
14-20
21-30
31-39
40-46
47-63
64-end.
That's eight sections.
Thoughts?

is it just me or are the chapters in Dokkaebi a lot shorter than Gumiho? also, I just have to be extra and call it Gumiho and Dokkaebi rather than Wicked Fox and Vicious Spirits.
ok. i just can't with the speed of this. like one minute they hate each other, the next they're down each other's throats. i have no idea what to expect but I have a feeling this may become my first 2 star read...
Yes. I agree
About to start section 4. Phew. This is quite difficult to get through. I'm not enjoying this as much as Wicked Fox. I loved Junu and Somin as separate characters in the last one, but in this one I'm hating the instalove. It's too.......meh. And the writing style just isn't for me. I quite like urban fantasy, but I dislike contemporary, and this is just too much of the latter for me. There's been barely any magic.
I will finish it because I can't not finish it haha, but I'm not really excited about reading it to be honest

i was kinda excited at first, but literally struggled to get past the first two sections purely because of the instalove, it was... cringey.
Same! I’m 160 pages in currently and I feel like the action still hasn’t really got going yet. It still feels like its setting up...
i'm 153. i've just read that sentence: "someone who's immortal doesn't keep aging in the normal sense- they just keep existing" or something like that and Somin says that doesn't make sense..... how? i'm not very intelligent but I still got there...
Well. I finally finished.
I gave it 3 stars, but I think that's being pretty generous to be honest. I normally love enemies to lovers, but it doesn't work well with instalove. Junu and Somin's relationship escalated way too quickly for it to be believable.
And where was Changwanie :( He's one of my favs and he was barely in it.
Miyoung and Jihoon were not particularly cute together in this one I thought either :/ To be honest, it felt like it had been written in a rush, which I understand, but some of the descriptions and narrative just fell a little flat to me?
What do you think?

yello,
I'm yet to read the last 2 sections. you'll probably see an update at most 2/3am because... you know, why not?

*spoilers*
i'm going to be honest and it's going to be brutal.
this book was a let down. honestly. everyone hypes it up on booktok, calling it 'amazing' etc. but I just don't get it.
i actually hated Miyoung, I liked her more in Gumiho, like just her attitude and whatnot just screams dislike.
Jihoon. well. he obviously played the victim, I feel like most of the personality we got from him in the book is actually Sinhye, so not actually him. like that element is gone.
in terms of their relationship, obviously it was from a different-ish viewpoint but it still wasn't displayed as much as it was in Gumiho.
Changwan- this disappointed me because I swear we only saw Changwan like three times and very very brief times they were.
I like the character of Changwan and he played a role of sorts in Gumiho, so what happened? did he just 'die'? I mean, Cho tried to make out like he was studying but really?
Somin and Junu. Enemies to lovers? well. kind of yes, but literally within the first section of the book. like 50 pages in.... what???? It's not- it ruins the book.
like the rest of the book was just them trying to go on some 'death defying adventure' to do something.
the plot twists didn't seem like plot twists. i expected them.
there was no magic in the fight whatsoever, it felt very dull. i could basically have skim read it and still could have known what was happening.
i feel like the point of view was mainly through Somin and Junu to appeal to the lovers trope but let's face it, the real story was continuing on from Miyoung and trying to get her bead back.
yes. it did seem very rushed.
the cringe level on this was just.... through the roof. i physically had to put the book down and leave it for a day because i couldn't endure the cliche sudden romance and instant flirting between Junu and Somin.
either I'm a very critical person, or this book just isn't it.
(to be fair, it's probably me).
anyway. all in all. amazing. five stars.
:/

Yesss! How are the ratings so high? I don't understand it. The writing style just...wasn't there for me. And Sinhye was more of a character than Jihoon, and it wasn't like he was absent! Sigh.
