W | 1 comments Bestselling author, with a controversial personal life.Lord Archer has spent time in prison as well, though I liked his three Prison diaries more than many of his fiction books.

A writer, who seems to polarise opinions. For many he is a natural story teller, but he has plenty of detractors as well.

W | 1 comments Hell (A Prison Diary, #1) by Jeffrey Archer The first book,in high security Belmarsh prison, with hardened criminals is the most intense.

Purgatory (A Prison Diary, #2) by Jeffrey Archer

A Prison Diary Volume III North Sea Camp Heaven (The Prison Diaries) by Jeffrey Archer

Excellent, I'll check those out.

W | 1 comments The above two are not among his best.He has written so many more, the quality is variable.

I'll keep posting my impressions about his other books as well. You may want to check out this one :

Shall We Tell the President? (Kane & Abel, #3) by Jeffrey Archer Shall We Tell the President?

Fast paced thriller,a plot to assassinate the U.S. president.

W | 1 comments Age and imprisonment haven't slowed Archer down.He wrote the seven volume Clifton Chronicles series.Having enjoyed the first volume,Only Time will Tell,I now look forward to reading the second volume : The Sins of the Father (Clifton Chronicles) by Jeffrey Archer The Sins of the Father

W | 1 comments The Sins of the Father, is not bad,but nor is it particularly memorable. 3/5

W | 1 comments Currently reading,part 3 of the Clifton Chronicles :

Best Kept Secret (The Clifton Chronicles, #3) by Jeffrey Archer Best Kept Secret

Interesting beginning.

message 10: by W (new)

W | 1 comments However, the Clifton Chronicles is a seven part series and each of the books is pretty lengthy.Best Kept Secret, also drags at times.

W | 1 comments Also currently re reading,A Matter of Honour,an Archer thriller from the mid 80s.
The search for a priceless Russian icon. This is good storytelling.

John A. Hopkins (john_a_hopkins) | 3 comments My introduction to Archer was many years ago reading A Matter of Honour in condensed format as part of a (I think) Readers Digest hardback collection of four. Really liked this one.
The other that sticks in the mind for me is 'Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less' which was quite good fun.

John Slow | 9 comments Hi W,
For a long time, Kane and Abel was all I knew about adult books.
I am glad it was my first big book as a child.
