Writers Beware

Could any of the bogus ratings be from people with private accounts who wanted free copies of your books to review? Their scam to get free books didn't work, so now they're retaliating.
I though that too but all the reviewers are in the same town in the same country. So unless there was one heck of a book club meeting, this is just a scam! LOLI generally check out anyone that requests a book; for several reasons you don't want to see your book offered as a free download and you don't want to see your writing quoted in another book!
I thought it was just me, but another writer friend contacted me privately freaking out over the same thing. She too had been hit, likely someone doing this thinks that it is funny.

Did you suddenly get a boat load of 1 & 2 star ratings and reviews? Are these all posted on the same date? Notice that the poster has a 'private' account. Look into this further; you might find the country of origin is the same for all the fake reviews and ratings.
Flag all as spam/fake and you can report these to Goodreads. It is highly unlikely that a single country read several of your books in on the same date and all hated it!
I don't know why people feel the need to be this way, but if we stick together perhaps we can weed them out.
