Lucy Tonks (the invisible life of a reader) | 2037 comments Suspicion Minds by Gwenda Bond - i read this book bc i'm a big stranger things fan by i ended ip being extremely disappointed by it. it was soooo bad. i gave it 1 star.

the gentleman's guide to vice and virtue by mackenzie lee - the plot was horrible, the characters are annoying as hell and so so stupid and i had such high expectations for this book since it has recieved so much hype, but for me it was a very big disappointment. i rated this book 2 stars...

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell - another really loved and also very popular book. this is the perfect example of an overhyped book. i had pretty high expectations bc of that hype, but it simply was not it. the plot was nonexistent and the characters were cringy. i rated this book 2 stars... but now thinking more about it, it's closer to 1 star.

If I stay by Gayle Forman - this was one of the most boring books i have ever read. i couldn't connect to the main character, the plot was so very boring and i cannot believe i actually finished it.. i rated this book 1 star i think.

the babysitters's coven by kate williams - i didn't like any characters in this book, the writing was pretty bad and i was bored for most part of the plot. i rated it 2 stars.

all the bright places by jennifer niven - i just didn't like this book. i don't remember enough of what happen in it to give any specific reasons to why i didn't like. in the end i rated this 1 star..

this was actually a shorter list than i taught i had lol. i read 155 books this year so of course i had to have a few which i didn't like...

☀︎El In Oz☀︎ (elinoz) I have a few but my top 10 least favourites (and 2020 isn’t done yet but I’m hoping I don’t read that bad of a book in the next weeks lol)

10. The Betrothed by Kiera Cass. This was a mess and I am sad bc I love her first novel, The Siren. But I haven’t enjoyed any of her other works
9. The Last to Die by Kelly Garret. This had an awful ending. But a good MC.
8. The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern. This was so hyped yet I couldn’t get into it. It was slow, confusing, and overall really not my taste.
7. Romanov by Nadine Brandes. The plot didn’t come in until like 60% so it was boring and odd.
6. That Summer by Sarah Dessen. Just not a good book.
5. We Were Liars by E. Lockhart. This book was awful. Just awful.
4. Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart. This author simply is not for me.
3. The Invisible Life Of Addie La Rue. No plot, bad characters, disconnected writing and a lack of character development.
2. The Poppy War by R F Kuang. This book has loads of pie took but read my review to see why it flopped.
1. House of Salt and Sorrows. I hate this book. That’s it.

☀︎El In Oz☀︎ (elinoz) Yeah I hate six of crows too but that was a 2019 read for me

Lucy Tonks (the invisible life of a reader) | 2037 comments omg i forgot to mention serafina and the black clock. it was so bad. i hated both the plot and the characters. and to add on top of that, it is so forgettable. i cannot even remember what it was about.

Audrey (stuckonchapter13) | 10 comments The worst book I read this year by far was Someone we Know by Shari Lapena. I felt that a lot of the plot felt out of place and the ending was pathetic, clearly a last minute decision. The description is also quite lacking especially for a mystery novels I do feel that the book was well place and the concept of neighbours pitying against each other was great. I do admit that my dislike for this book might not be as big have I not been reading a lot of great mystery novels at the time and had I not read one of her prior novels that I did enjoy.Overall if you want to read a mystery this is not what I would recommend.

If you want to read a book from Lapena, I recommend An Unwanted Guest.

Amelie | 1656 comments Some of my least favourites would be: We’ll Always Have Summer, Romeo and Juliet, The Elite, Circe, Delirium, House of Salt and Sorrows, and Stargirl, due to the fact I disliked the plots and characters in these books.

Jaye Card (jayecard) Gonna be controversial here and say the only book I didn't like was the second Mistborn book, just really disliked one of the prominent characters

Bumble Greenbriar (hernameiscrumpet) from blood and ash was a new level of awful... just reviewed it and had multiple war flashbacks to its terribleness

message 18: by Lucy Tonks, Shadowhunter - Head of BOTM (new)

Lucy Tonks (the invisible life of a reader) | 2037 comments adding to this list la belle sauvage by philip pullman and the ballad of songbirds and snakes. i'm not even sure how i managed to finish those books! both of them were so terrible.

Shawna Finnigan (sugoishawn) | 113 comments A Curse of Ash and Embers - extremely boring

The Steps - cheesy and the characters were annoying

A Wizard of Earthsea - boring and lacks strong female representation

Messenger - boring

Charlotte's Web - boring and somewhat sexist

Just a Little (books 1-4) - an inappropriate age gap

Ishmael - boring and confusing

message 21: by Grace (new)

Grace Broadway Ugh definitely The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon. I decided to give her a second chance and read Everything, Everything which I actually enjoyed.
