What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Hi All!

My description of this book might not be the best because I haven't read it myself - I'm looking for my fiance!

This is a series of books that I believe has three books at this point. The last one came out earlier this year if I remember correctly and I think the other two came out within the past two or three years - they're definitely recent. I know the covers of the first two books were both mostly white and one had kind of blue smoke on it and the other had red smoke (it might not be smoke but that's what it looks like in my head). They were written by a male author but I don't have any idea what his name was.

He said in the book the angels rule over everything after being cast down from heaven and at some point in the past there was a war between them and giants but they made peace eventually. They came together to kill the demons but the demons came back and there's a new war. The giants ride bears (I don't know if the bears have other significance but there's definitely bears). He thinks there are people too that help make weapons but also get turned into half-demon half-people.

The setting changes a lot and part of it is in heaven, part is in a snowy mountain scene, there are a few others too but he can't remember specifically.

I would say they're between 300-500 pages maybe? Decent sized.

The series is Of Blood and Bone by John Gwynne (Book One is "A Time of Dread")
