She could see her "friends'' trying to hide their huge smirks and whispered snickers, but other than that all she was able to hear was the faint ringing in her ears and the loud mocking laughter surrounding her. She looked at the graffiti-covered locker surrounded by a row of immaculate ones, all belonging to the Rosewood Preparatory Academy for The Gifted. "PATHETIC," 'CROSS-DRESSING FREAK" "SCREW-UP," among other, much more colorful words were drawn on it in equally vibrant colors.
The short crying and shaking boy with fluffy caramel hair was frozen as he stared at the bright ugly words with his hazel eyes, trying to block out the students around him.
She forced herself to laugh with them, but if anyone cared to look, which no one did, they'd see the stabbing regret and terror in those dark chocolate brown eyes of hers while her mouth grinned wickedly. Remembering her charade, her warm light toffee colored hand secretly high-fived the girl who held her own out to her behind the back of a jean-jacketed and tall boy.
Yes, she was used to the usually mild, but still mean bullying her clique did. But this? This was going too far. As she looked around, with an almost silent sigh of relief, she watched the boy's friends shove through the thick crowd of people, yelling at everyone to leave and holding him tight as sobs racked his body.
"I'm so sorry." She whispered under her breath, knowing no one could hear her as the crowd was forced to leave by a teacher who had just walked into the hallway. The last thing she saw before heading into her circular and white classroom, was the furious scowls shot at her from the huddle of kids comforting the boy from across the lockers.
Trinity Summers was a bully. One of the few students at Rosewood that could get away with being a horrible person. Did she hate herself? Abso-freaking-lutely. Would she do anything about it? For the path she was on at the moment, not likely.
She wasn't as bad as the rest of them. Sometimes she'd even help the victims without anyone knowing. What happened that day... She didn't know. She genuinely didn't know what was occurring until she walked through those school doors and saw Hayden standing in front of his vandalized locker, eyes wide and hands clenched.
Apparently, they had done it because a few days before, Hayden had come out to the school by kissing his boyfriend in front of the whole student body. Honestly, she was really happy for him, and felt like a complete monster when she heard people calling him names and insulting him just because he was brave enough to get out of the closet unlike many of the teens trapped in the mass of bullies with her.
And if something so horrible was done to him... Was there any hope for Little Miss Mean Girl, Trinity Summers herself?
Trinity had a secret as well, and if a completely innocent and kind-hearted boy like Hayden with actual, real friends was targeted so badly for being brave enough to show his true self, how would it end up for a girl like her?
She knew how big of a coward she was, but put yourself in her shoes; she's in the popular clique, has no real friends - just fake ones who are with her because they need to put up the facade that they were an untouchable pack - , and her group is practically filled to the brim with people who discriminated against others for fun.
It doesn't excuse what she does, but absolutely no one will stick with her because the bullies will bully her and the bullied will very rightfully call it karma.
"Trin? Trinity? TRINITY!!" Someone yelled in her ear and she jumped, immediately swinging her head around and looking at the laughing people around her.
"God Trin, where's your head stuck today?" Carmen asked, chuckling and cocking an eyebrow at her. She laughed with them, putting on that fake but convincing grin she wore everyday. "Sorry Car, just thinking about how awesome that prank was today." She respnded, but thinking of how it was the exact opposite.
"Right?!" Carmen asked, an excitement in her eyes that made Trinity feel like she was about to throw up. "Anyway, we're going to that abandoned town nearby. You know, through the woods?" She asked, but wasn't really asking.
"Cool, I'm down." She said swinging her backpack over her shoulder as Mr. Warren let the students out, opening the floodgates otherwise known as the door/the way to being very far from the boring math class.
"Great. See you then! Cannot believe I have Mrs. Taylor next..." Carmen groaned, causing a chuckling Trinity to shove her playfully, trying with all her might not to recoil away from this fake "friend." In reality, they were both equally playing the other, like a violin, just like the rest of their group did to each other every single day. "Bye Carmen." She called to the redhead as she headed to her next class.
One of my favorite words is “suspended.” I love the way it sounds, and reminds me of frozen time, and water floating in the air, sparkling by sunlight. Suspended as a word has multiple meanings. It can be either a noun or a verb, and has multiple uses. However, my favorite meaning of the word is “hang (something) from somewhere,” but it’s not because of the description itself. In a sentence, it just sounds right to my ears, making me think of a soft force keeping an object from hitting the floor, just letting it calmly sit there, magically still.

I didn't find much of anything that needed fixing! It is a great story!! You just might want to change 'graffiti covered' to graffiti-covered!
