Hi Genise, welcome to the syndicate! I agree to the fact that his writing is fantastic, there’s such a sophistication to his simple style of prose. I read The Grapes of Wrath recently and thought it was fantastic and is a very tragic story, similar to of Mice and Men. Comment when you complete and we can discuss it further.
Is there any chance you could tell your friends or acquaintances who like to Steinbeck about the group as I would like to get more
Kind regards.

I forgot to mention that I’m reading East of Eden currently, very good so far. I would recommend buying the Penguin C20 classics version as it is a lighter book(physically speaking) as other versions are huge and heavy, but it is a but more expensive though. Try looking in used bookstores or thrift shops

Hello from the United States of America. My name is Denise and Steinbeck is one of my favorite authors. The Grapes of Wrath and Of Mice and Men are two of my favorites. I have not read everything either so maybe we should pick we have not yet read so we can read it and then discuss?~Denise
I have recently joined Goodreads so will add a picture soon.
Hello, I am joining this group because Steinbeck is one of my favorite authors. Its a toss-up between him and Tolstoy as to who is my top favorite. They both have the beautiful ability to closely examine human nature in a tender and loving way. They are both excellent story tellers and they both have awesome skills in the use of the written word. I just finished Cannery Row in the Keeping up with Classics group and it reminded me of how much I love Steinbeck. I see the group is semi-dormant, but I do hope it comes back to life. Ed, glad that you could join , all 6 of us alas. Yeah the group seemed have died as soon as it got started, didn’t think it would stagnate this quickly, but then again six is better than one.
Hi all! I'm a fan of all things written by Steinbeck. I see the group isn't all that active. But I still plan on posting my thoughts on Steinbeck's works, if for nothing else than to have a place to jot it all down in the hopes someone else will share their thoughts as well. It doesn't hurt to try! My favorite work by Steinbeck is Cannery Row. I felt so drawn to the characters! I may or may not see you all around the group. :)
Hi Theresa,
Thanks for joining us, always glad to see another person in the group. Cannery Row is great albeit not my favourite.
Feel free to add your thoughts whenever.
All the best,
Cian
