Virginia | 15 comments I've read most of the books for 202 but haven't checked them off the list. I'm in again for 2021. I found that the 2020 list spread my horizons a bit.

Welcome Virginia, Barbra, Sara and Nicole! I, too, am so excited I spent the last hour in bookish pursuit, browsing online and my bookshelves to see what I want to start the new year reading. ;-) Just 5 more days until we can begin...

Sara Caauwe | 31 comments I can’t get the link to work. Is it just me or is the link not active, yet?
On the library website it still shows the 2020 challenge.

Hmmm...the link above took me to the 2021 challenge. If you go to the Library's website and scroll to the bottom of the front page, the blog post, 2021 Reading Challenge, is first one listed under Featured & New. Let me know if you don't see it there either.

Barbra (nerd-ie-barbie-reads) | 19 comments The link takes me to the blog page for the 2021 challenge, but I don't see a link to the challenge list...

I'm so happy you will be participating again, Val!

message 14: by Thomas (new)

Thomas Flynn | 2 comments I'm kicking off my participation by just having finished Olive Kitteridge, by Elizabeth Strout! It was a wonderful read — literary fiction from an author who has been on my radar for years, but hadn't read before!

Welcome, Thomas! I've heard very good things about Olive Kitteridge, but I haven't read it. I'm working my way through my first book for the challenge, An Expert in Murder by Nicola Upson. It's the first book in a mystery series starring Josephine Tey as the amateur detective, a real author who wrote in the '20s and '30s. I highly recommend Tey's The Daughter of Time.

Sara Caauwe | 31 comments I've finished the challenge! My books for the challenge are on a shelf in my profile 2021-mclc challenge. This was fun, as always and I'm already looking forward to next year's challenge.

Congratulations, Sara! I can't wait to peruse what you read this year. I've just finished mine as well, but haven't made my shelf yet. I will by the end of the day, though!

I'll be posting the 2022 Challenge in the next week, so be on the lookout for it.

message 22: by Valerie (new)

Valerie | 10 comments I've finished the challenge as well. I have a shelf called MLCL 2021 Reading Challenge if anyone would like to see what I read.

message 23: by Barbra (new)

Barbra (nerd-ie-barbie-reads) | 19 comments Exciting to see the finishers! I have also completed it. My shelf is entitled 2021-library-challenge.
Looking forward to 2022!

I love looking at everyone's lists. Each of you had at least one title that I was undecided whether to put on my TBR and seeing that you enjoyed them has pushed me over to add them! Congrats and thanks for sharing!!

message 25: by Virginia (new)

Virginia | 15 comments I finished the challenge just under the wire. the 800+ page of short stories by Hemingway almost did me in. I read them on and off over the year. You can find my list on my profile under 2021-Reading-Challenge-read.

I admire you tackling that short story collection! You read some awesome books this year. And it looks like you enjoyed most of them, which makes for a great reading year. :-)
