LOOKING FOR SW BINGO PROMPTS

Our member Rebecca suggested a fun challenge idea: STAR WARS READING BINGO.

We need 24 prompts. Help us out & suggest as many as you can think of. The mods will pick 24 best ones and in the February we'll roll out the SW BINGO for everybody to enjoy and have fun with.

Example of what a SW BINGO may look like:

Something like this:

These are first 24 prompt ideas. We'd love for you to add more.

-Allana Solo
-Anakin's force ghost(NJO appearances with voice only are okay)
-Tyria Sarkin(Wraith Squadron pilot with at least 1 cameo appearance in later books)
-Ahsoka
-Callista (her best appearance is in CW book, not later novels. However Darksaber(named after (view spoiler)) is also not as bad as the other in the trilogy that is named for her)

Oh, Rebecca, you gave me an idea by your Akira Kurosawa prompt for a second BINGO game.

I'd like the first BINGO to be more of a scavenger hunt for SW tropes and cliches. You know you almost expect that in a SW material (movie, book, comicbook or a game) somebody loses a limb, and somebody gets imprisoned, and there's a cute helpful droid and a sexy readhead. ;)

And the second BINGO would be a SW Activity BINGO. E.g. Watch a Lucas era movie, read a SW shortstory, read an article with a piece of SW news, Watch an episode of a SW TV show, Read a Legends book, Read a New Canon book, Watch a Kurosawa movie, read a SW fanfiction, etc.

I don't want BINGO games to have prompts too similar to other Reading challenges that are either on right now or are planned (read-a-thons).

What do you think? Good idea? Bad idea?

Yes, Ines, those are perfect.

Akindle wrote: "What do you think abut my prompts?"

Akindle, I thought that they were a bit too specific. But they can be tweaked to fit the tropes theme:
instead of Darksaber I would use "a planet destroying superweapon", instead of Allana Solo I would use "Skywalker lineage for the win" or something like that.

Or I can save them for a more traditional reading challenge - something focusing on post Return of the Jedi era. What would you prefer?

Return of the Jedi challenge items? I don't think I understand...
Callista is in Clone Wars and in New Republic era?

What I meant to say was that tropes are more general than usual challenge prompts.

Rebecca | 962 comments Wait, is Callista one of Master Altis' students? If so, she's also in one or two of Karen Travis's Republic Commandos books briefly as well as No Prisoners.

Rebecca | 962 comments so you are saying we used her in another time era as more than just flashbacks?

Don Brown (donkbrown) | 139 comments Hey, guys and gals.

Will the group have new threads for a 2022 Yearly Reading Challenge and 2022 SW Reading Tracker? I found them useful and fun, and they have helped me stay on track.

And if this has already been asked and answered, sorry! Point me in the right direction.

"This is the way."

Hey Don! I plan to set up a new 2022 SW Reading Tracker. Not sure about the yearly challenge as you can start participating anytime you feel like it, not strictly on the 1st of January. Do you think it would be helpful if we have separate threads for challenges that started in different years? I honestly don't know.

This sounds perfect. A Reading Tracker for the year is all we need. I think I had the "2022 Yearly Reading Challenge" in my head as I'd just left the 2021 thread (and it was three in the morning when I was posting). I do not think we need another 'challenge' thread.

Thanks, Zuzana. Looking forward to another year of Star Wars reading (and tracking). :)

Merry Christmas, everyone.
