um hi!! im not really sure what to write lol but my name is anna (it's a pseudonym but it's what i prefer to go by online), my pronouns are she/her and i live in qld, australia. im trying to join some clubs on here bc i want to read more and i think this'll help to motivate me oof. anyway look forward to talking about books with y'all :)
hi Anna! so happy you joined! I just made this club yesterday so there aren't a lot of people here yet but once there are I'll start the monthly books
Pretty much anything young adult but I usually lean more towards fantasy and dystopia vs like contemporaries haha
Yesssss dysyopian is def one of my favorite genres ive been trying to get into some new adult fiction books because I feel very sophisticated when I read them but they tend to bore me lol
Yeah it's Inej from Six of Crows! She's my favourite book character so I thought it was only fitting
uhm hi my name is Olivia (pseudonym), im 16 and i live in New York America and i loveee books, thats why I´m here :) and my favorite types of bokks to read are probably young adult, romance and fantasy at the moment.
Hi Olivia :) Obviously I don't have much seniority lmao but Welcome. What are some of ur favourite books/series?
hi!!! my name is Charlotte, my pronouns are she/her, i'm 16 years old, i live in maine, usa, and i can't tell you my favorite book because there are way to many :) (but my favorite book boyfriend is Thomas Cresswell from the Stalking Jack the Ripper series)
I'm really bad at explaining books but i'll put the official synopsis:Seventeen-year-old Audrey Rose Wadsworth was born a lord's daughter, with a life of wealth and privilege stretched out before her. But between the social teas and silk dress fittings, she leads a forbidden secret life.
Against her stern father's wishes and society's expectations, Audrey often slips away to her uncle's laboratory to study the gruesome practice of forensic medicine. When her work on a string of savagely killed corpses drags Audrey into the investigation of a serial murderer, her search for answers brings her close to her own sheltered world.
I've heard about that series a couple times but I never actually got around to look at what it was about but now I definitely need to read it haha
sorry i forgot my pronouns are she/herand my favorite books: theres too many :))
I basically read everything YA and how you said Autumn enemie to lovers omg i love these kind of books.
But I also like books like `They both die at the end´ by Adam Silvera or `The Color Purple´ by Alice Walker.
And Charlotte I would be 100% down to read the series!!
They Both Die At The End made me WEEP lmao like I really read the title and spent the entire book going They Won't Really Die At The End pfft. It was so beautifully written though
I'd put this in the rec chat but since we're already talking here: do you have any good enemies to lovers (or even enemies to friends) recommendations? I normally see it done better in TV than in books and I'd love to read some more of the trope bc it's definitely one of my favourites
some of my favorite enemies to lovers are:The Folk of the Air Trilogy (the first book is The Cruel Prince)
Dance of Thieves (duology)
The Remnant Chronicles (the first book is the Kiss of Deception)
The Shadows Between Us (stand alone)
The Renegades Trilogy (first book is Renegades)
Red, White, and Royal Blue (contemporary stand alone)
The Wrath and The Dawn (duology)
The Beautiful (so far there are only two books but i thinks it’s going to be a trilogy)
From Blood and Ash (so far there are only two books but there is going to be four)
I'm going to be 100% real I didn't cry as hard as people said I would at the end of they both die at the end. I mean my eyes got watery but that was it. We Were Liars was a WHOLE different story tho I went into a 3 day depression after reading that
and yes enemies to lovers givese life!! the last one I read was the folk of air trilogy I got butterflies whenever cardan was mentioned, and I kid you not my heart literally hurt when I read cardan's letters to jude.
another good one is caraval (kinda) it's not really enemies to lovers but two people who bicker 24/7 to lovers
another good one is caraval (kinda) it's not really enemies to lovers but two people who bicker 24/7 to lovers
im so excited to read shadows between us i read the first line of it less than a week ago and have been absolutely losing my mind about it since
also tbh i definitely didn't cry as hard as a lot of people (I tend to throw the word weep around a bit loosely bc i feel weird writing cry or bawl for some reason pfft) but there were some parts (not even necessarily the death scenes) that really hurt. I don't really remember most of the quotes but I remember having to pause the audio book at "I kiss the guy who brought me to life on the day we're going to die" and that scene where one of Rufus' friends was talking about how they wouldn't get to say goodbye to him and "I have used up my yesterdays and am completely out of tomorrows." I think overall the book would have been more effective if the whole You Only Live Once message wasn't jammed into the book so intensely bc it kinda felt like every chapter the author was going HEY REMEMBER THIS BOOK HAS A MORAL lmao
idk if this is our "Chatroom" or if theres something else buut are you guys intrested in reading books together or is everyone just reading their own books and tells us about it? i´ve never been in such a group before but i think we can decide as a group what we´re going to do and not going to. So yeah let me know what you guys think :)
yess I totally think we should read books together I just thought that maybe we should start next month since this one already started, but if y'all think we should start this month I'm all for it
I know it was a good book and well written but it did repeat the moral of the story more than it needed to I think maybe the title made it less sad for me because there wasn't any hope they might actually live and defy the system

Autumn wrote: "hi penelope so happy you're her! you are brave brave for wanting to read all the bright places I've never read it but I heard it was sad.
