I have changed my reading goal for 2021 from 50 books to 24, as i realise that i am concentrating on quantity too much and quality not enough. I still want to set a goal to keep me going, and i may even change it again later, but for now this will allow me to read some more substantial books (whether in length or content) should i want to. Reading Joan Didion's 'Slouching Towards Bethlehem' made me realise this. It is a superb book, but one i have needed to chew over.

In 2021 I plan to read at least 50 books and 10,000 pages. I also aim to read more books than I buy to try and reduce the amount of unread books in my library.
