Bumble Greenbriar (hernameiscrumpet) | 99 comments I think when no one will listen to you then they’re often the only way to make you get heard. like greta thunberg!! as long as they stay peaceful they can have a huge impact without causing harm.

Papaphilly So those protests that end up destroying someone else's things is good?

So you support protests that you believe in and not support the rights of others protests that you do not believe in?

Fair enough and that is the right way to see it. Peaceful protests have their place and are long part of our society.

Yeah, and during a pandemic it might not be the best idea to protest... but I think people should do what they think is right, and if they're not being heard

eli ♡ Even though I don't support all reasons to protest, I'm mainly concerned that the people who are protesting are safe. It's been terrifying learning and witnessing protests that literally just want human rights (BLM, LGBTQIA+ rights, etc.), and they've been teargassed, injured, or killed because their protest went from peaceful to violent. I just wish that people weren't so selective with what protests they want to support without seeing the protester's pov.

You should separate 'protesters' and 'looters' because they are not the same people and have different goals altogether. Also, have you seen clips of police early this year laying out bricks near storefronts and spray cans as well as undercover police who actually began the looting in Minneapolis? I'm not by any means defending the looters but there was some shifty shit going down then...

Papaphilly Fair enough, however, there were plenty of protesters throwing bottles and bricks Molotov cocktails and other mayhem. At the same time, when protests start and turn violent, then the protesters have to own it too.
