It’s a cottage.

"Well," Sam says to Syl. "This is my house."

"Thanks," Sam said. "Small. But it's home."

"Want something to drink?" Sam asks.

She brings out tea.

"So," Sam says, after pouring them both some. "Want to go to to the Cafe? Or a walk in the woods? An actual date."

"Okay," Sam says, looking down at her tea.

Sam looks up. "Yeah," she says truthfully. "Just.... thinking."

Sam fidgets with her blonde hair. "What's your favorite place in town?"

"The lake. It's beautiful."

"I always make time. It's my quiet place." Sam says wistfully.

"It is. Usually I go at night. I don't mind the cold, and no one usually ever goes." Sam takes a sip of her tea.

"I like that," Sam smiles. "But I'm a sucker for sentiment."

"Is it a quote?" She asks.

Sam nods. They sit in an awkward silence.

Sam drank more tea. "What do you do? For a living, I mean."

"I work at my family's restaurant. Chef."

Sam smiles. "You too. Being a chemist sounds interesting."

"Fun?" Sam asks.

Sam thinks. "Yeah I don't think I could handle that. I'd blow up the place."

"I almost set the restaurant on fire a few years back," she mused.

"Oh, it was a mess. I was punished with extra chores for months," Sam answers.

Sam giggles. "Yeah, the rest is sort of funny now."

"What's one of your major mess ups?" Sam says embarrassed.

Sam yaw dps, walking onto the kitchen, and grabbing a box of oatmeal. She plops on the couch and sighs, cotent

Sam smiles and gets up to walk,to her- well it was complicated.

Sam kisses back happily, hand on Syl's cheek.

Sam pulls back slightly. "What was tht for?" she mumbles against her lips.

Sam twirls Syl's hair on her finger, kissing back a bit harder

Sam groans into her mouth, restraint making hee tense.
