Stephanie (stephanie-somanybooks) | 719 comments We're bringing it back! This is an optional challenge but it does get added to your annual challenge points.

We've generated a BINGO card for the game. You'll get 5 points added to your reading total for a five in a row or four corner BINGO (horizontal, vertical, diagonal, or 4 corners). There is a limit of 2 BINGOs per person. Additionally, you will get 30 points added to your annual book total if you fill the whole card. Since you'll get points for these books, you cannot use them for any of the other challenges or monthly specials.

BINGO 2021

Each box on the card has a number. You can indicate what your BINGO is by listing the box number, category and book title. For instance, if I had a vertical BINGO down the center, I would list 21 - Graphic Novel - Title, 3 - Musical Term - Title, FREE, 11 - Author uses Inits - Title, 20 - Family Fav - Title.

You can try the List feature in Goodreads. Just put "revenge story" in the search box and see what happens.

Or, pose the question in the book chat thread in this group.

The Book chain challenge is a bonus challenge which doesn't count for points. Therefore it is okay to use books in it that have been used in one of the monthly, yearly or Bingo challenges. You can't use a book in more than one "challenge for points".
I hope that clears thing up.

I'm having a hard time finding hard boiled detectives specifically. Lots of hardboiled lists but not specifically detectives... Like does James Bond count as a hard boiled detective? He comes up on hardboiled lists a bunch and technically investigates things lol...

Thanks Wanda! They came up in my search as well.

I was hoping to use books that are already on my list. I know there are some detective type books on my list but I don't know if they are hardboiled detectives lol..

Fingers crossed Stephanie says James Bond is ok, just because I've been meaning to read that one for a while LOL

The title: The Tide Between Us.
Tide in the context of the book is used to refer to the Atlantic Ocean rather than the actual tides. May I count this? If not that is fine.

Hi Michelle, I am so sorry for the delay in responding. James Bond is not considered "Hard-Boiled", way too suave and debonair... :-)

Here are a couple of lists on GR that might help:

I sorted my TBR by author's name, then just scanned through the M's, looking for a first name of R. For E I, how about Eowyn Ivey? I've heard Snow Child by her is good.

Also Goodreads has a list of "Authors starting with I" (and all the other letters). You could look through that to find some options.

Linda and Rhonda have good suggestions, I really enjoyed The Snow Child. Another suggestion is Eva Ibbotson. She has several highly rated books, you should be able to find a good one!

Found these in my library's online catalog:
Eric Idle
Elizabeth Ironside (mystery)
Emmi Itaranta - Memory of Water which I didn't really care for but has a 3.7 rating
Eva Ibbotson

Had a problem with my initials as well. Considered using my maiden name. But I think I've found a mystery writer that will do.

I had not found this list. Thanks.
I read American Gods last year and highly recommend it and Circe to anyone else looking for a book in this category. I reread Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch earlier this year but that does not really have a god character. They are angels and demons and the anti-Christ. Hard to tell if Anansi Boys really has a god character or not but I'm sure it's worth a read.
