Does anyone have a good book recommendation for the Inquisition? What was its purpose? Who was subject to it? How effective was it?

Steve Weidenkopf, historian, has books on the subject of your interest, carried by amazon, or you can go directly to his website, simply adding .com to his name.
“Isabella of Spain: The Last Crusader” by William Thomas Walsh “Characters of the Inquisition” by William Thomas Walsh
“The Spanish Inquisition: a Historical Revision” (1997 book)
-Henry Kamen
Kamen is the foremost scholar on the Inquisition as well as Netanyahu, the father of Benjamin Netanyahu. Those and Walsh are the most important authors on the Inquisition. Netanyahu and Kamen are honest historians and both are Jewish, making their books more weighty. Lamen lead a group of scholars in a study of the documents of the Inquisition when those documents were opened to the scholarly world after the death of Franco.
