I’ve finished my January read, An Algerian Childhood, which is a collection of short stories by various authors.
In March I'll be reading #24 Hope and Other Dangerous Pursuits. Now I need to track down a copy of the book!
It took a while but I finally finished February's book, The White Nile by Alan Moorehead. A classic book on western exploration of Africa, it was not a fast read but definitely worth the effort to learn more about African history of that time from an outsiders perspective. My April book was Purple Hibiscus which I realized I have already read. For May I just finished reading Leaving Before the Rains Come by Alexandra Fuller. I am such a huge fan of her work and this book did not disappoint. Her vivid and extremely amusing descriptions of her childhood in southern Africa make you smile and laugh and wish you were there.
For June my #18 is A Girl Called Eel. I’ve been looking forward to reading this book.
Cheers!
