Just finished chapter 7. (view spoiler)[ I liked seeing how she grew as an individual. Being banished to the island was a good thing for her because she learned more about her powers. She even appears more confident in herself. (hide spoiler)]
(view spoiler)[Hope to read this before bed up til at least chapter 10 but I'm glad to see Circe is more confident in herself. She finally found something that made her special and give her some self-love 💙 Especially since the gods made fun of her for being different. Now look at them scared because they don't understand her power (hide spoiler)]
Just finished chapter 10. (view spoiler)[ I'm a little shocked by the events that happened. Circe finally encountering Scylla and seeing what kind of monster she become!! I am impressed by how Circe's plan to disguise herself as her brother ended up working. Also, the birth of her sister's monster child was creepy. I didn't expect her sister to go to that length of having a child with a bull just so she would be remembered as the creator of monsters. I forgot how much of these kind of tales are present in Greek mythology. (hide spoiler)]
I just read the first page of chapter 11 and realized (view spoiler)[ that the monster child is the minotaur! I can't believe I didn't notice this was a minotaur origin story 😂 (hide spoiler)].
Ahhh. I'm on chapter 9 right now! (view spoiler)[ I did not expect Hermes to show up but when he foreshadowed the events with Odysseus, I kind of got excited because I actually knew what he was talking about. There relationship was weird but I hope Circe finds some one she truly loves and isn't just sleeping with because they are there. (hide spoiler)]
(view spoiler)[ ikr! so many myths that we hear in passing explained here and it's awesome to learn more about them! the Minotaur. Icarus. When Circe spoke of Icarus's death, my mind immediately went to Burn in Hamilton. Also to hear his story made me sad cause I knew how much he meant to Daedalus. (hide spoiler)]
