((Thanks for making this, but next time please try and ask a mod before making it (if you didn't already! Sorry if you did) I'll put up a topic for that so that it can be done more easily in the future, sorry for not having one up already.))
Swallow lurked through the caves, hoping she wouldn't be noticed.
"I should have some sort of contraption set up so that I do not oversleep." she thought,"The fellow WingWatchers are going to be SOOO MAD!"
"I should have some sort of contraption set up so that I do not oversleep." she thought,"The fellow WingWatchers are going to be SOOO MAD!"
Sparrow approached the underground city, her hood pulled up. She looked winded, like she had ran a great distance. She huffed and puffed, reaching up to pull her hood down. She heard a few footsteps nearby and flung herself into a tree, disappearing almost instantly. She watched as someone came jogging through, beneath her tree.
Fox silently snuck out of the underground city. It was her usual shift for her job, being a Wingwatcher, and she wanted to get out of the city quickly so she wouldn't be late. See, she took her job very seriously. Not in the sense that see didn't want to be fired, no. She hated dragons. Whether they be Sky Dragons, Ice Dragons, or any dragons. They took her family away, so she'd get her revenge soon.
She also love her job. She was able to take her talents of drawing and make great work of it. Fox also doesn't have many friends, some would say none at all. But that wasn't true. She was friends with plenty of wild animals such as wolves, foxes, and bears. Though she didn't really like many people or humans. And dragons where a big no, even if she did speak their language
So, that was where she was sneaking off too. A lone tree stood just a little ways from the main forest, that was her best spot for dragon hunting.

Sparrow swung out of the tree, keeping her distance between Fox. She watched her go to a tree. A wingwatcher, odd. I haven't seen one in a while. She hefted up a rock and threw it far. The rock skittered into the bushes to Fox's left, and Sparrow hoped it would catch her attention. Sparrow darted around Fox, staying out of sight, and prepared to fight or run if needed.
In the moments of silence, Fox gripped onto her bag at her side, filled with two notebooks, a pouch of pens and pencils, a water bottle, and most of her Wingwatcher gear. She suddenly froze when she heard something crash into a bush. She turned sharply to it with narrowed eyes.
Someone or something was either hiding in the bushes... or hidden around. Fox suddenly went still as she strained her hearing. After a count of twenty, she turned to where she thought Sparrow was, about three feet from where she really was, "Who are you? And why are you here?" She asked in a heavily accented voice.

Sparrow didn't move or speak, staying completely frozen. She held her breath and counted. If you don't make a sound she won't see you. Very slowly, she reached for the dagger she found. It was wicked sharp and shiny. She covered it with her hand to prevent it from glinting and giving away her position. Sparrow watched Fox closely, knowing one wrong move and she would be found.
Fox sighed after a few more moments of looking at the bushes with a glare. Maybe I'm just losing my touch She thought to herself before turning back towards the lone tree that she was originally going to.
But she froze again and ran left before disappearing. She had a hunch and no matter how off she felt, her hunches were normally always right.
Fox appeared before Sparrow with her arms crossed and her eyes narrowed into slits, "So you ignored me? All I had was a blowgun, not that scary" She said in a low and soft voice.
((Sorry if this wasn't how you had it planned! My mind has drew a blank and I just wrote what was on my mind))

LMFAO no it's okay! I love plot twists! ))Sparrow held the dagger in front of her, balanced neatly on two feet in a crouch. "I never thought you were scary Wingwatcher." She was smaller than Fox but she still looked fierce. Up close the amount of weapons she had was more visible, and it was mostly daggers.
Sparrow stood and took a step back, so Fox couldn't attack her instantly. "What is your name?" She asked, cocking her head to the side.
((Oh good! XD Plot twists are great))
Fox tilted her head at the girl, now getting a better look at her up close. She looked smaller but she seemed somehow older. Before answering the girl's question, Fox looked at the weapons she carried and swore in a language that sounded almost snakelike. After a full six seconds of swearing under her breath, she opened her mouth to speak in her native language though her accent still stood out, "And yet you hold enough weapons to slay twelve dragons" She said calmly, "And I'm Lilac" Fox lied smoothly, "Who are you?"

There was something about the way Fox's voice changed when she said her name. She pushed it aside, not wanting to push it. "I'm Sparrow." Her head cocked forward, listening to the language she didn't understand. Her face twisted for a moment but it stopped halfway and smoothed over. She speaks Dragon doesn't she. "I carry enough weapons to keep myself alive alone." She responded, pocketing the dagger and pulling up her pants. "I didn't expect to find anyone here, thought the schedules must've been changed because the next patrol should be in four minutes yet you're still here." She glanced up at the sun, as if she knew the time exactly.
Fox nodded her head in acknowledgment, the girl's name was Sparrow, just like the type of bird, "Hm rouge, Or loner, though there the same thing basically" She said mostly as a statement, "I like to appear early for my shifts, a few people where moved around and I got this shift, which I normally don't have. But you should know if you've been scouting out the city for a few days" Fox replied, her eyes slightly harden and got cold. "Are you looking for supplies or a home? Or maybe you're just a traveler. But if your here for dragons, I'd say take a hike" Fox commented.
"Loner. I don't attack randomly." She nodded. "I've seen you around but it's been a while since I visited. You were usually on the.... early morning shift right?" She watched Fox's eyes get cold and Sparrow felt a bit underwhelmed. "I'm just here for a visit, " Her head tilted to the side. "I've been around dragons many times before, I'm sure I know where to find them."
"That's good to know" Fox muttered before saying, "The early morning shift, yes. Eagle normally has this shift but he's out sick today" She replied before glancing at the sky, "Well then. Oh, also, have you every seen a Night Dragon before? I haven't and I need to know what they look like so I can draw them. I've already done Sky Dragons, Sand, and Ice. Oh and Swamp. But not Rain, Night, or Sea Dragons. And since you're a loner, traveler person, maybe you'd know?" Fox answered while she looked back at Sparrow, her eyes softening slightly.
"I've seen each of the types. Plus some new ones which I haven't ever seen before then." She pulled a small book from her bag. "I like to write down what I see." She opened it and on each page was a detailed, but not well drawn, dragon. It was in sections so it had a description and abilities index plus a drawing of each part of the dragon. Sparrow flipped to the Night Dragon section. She handed Fox the book, seeming to not care what happened to it. "Here. I'll be around for a few days so you can keep it until then. Copy what you need from any of the drawings."
Fox slowly reached her hand out with a skeptical look and grabbed the book gently from Sparrow, the girl was giving up her research awfully quick. "Thank you? Wait, you've seen all of them? And new ones? From where though? Here or somewhere else?" She asked with her eyes slightly widen as she stares at the Night Dragon section. All the abilities and the description done completely, "You must have a lot of time on your hands" She commented with her eyes moved up and down the page. After a few seconds, she moved the book to her right hand and moved her left one to open her bag and she grabbed a darkly colored sketchbook and a few pencils, "Thank you, really. This is probably the nicest thing a stranger has done for me, actually.. nicest thing anybody has every done for me"
"You're welcome. Yes, I've seen all of them, the new ones seem to be from somewhere else. Somewhere off continent. I always thought Pyrrhia was all that was out there." She watched Fox with a smile, seeing her eyes widen. "Yea, I live alone and travel everywhere. No one to hold me back or tell me what to do y'know? I'm free. Plus every one of my family members think im dead." She growled. She then smiled at Fox. "Yea don't worry about it. Do you think three days is enough time to copy it all down? I need to get back to Sanctuary before my dragon worries."
"Somewhere off the continent. Not on Pyrrhia" Fox echoed with a frown, thinking. "Well then, I guess I'll have to pack up and leave soon, no one will miss me" She muttered the last part mostly to herself, "I've got to find these new dragons in person" She added. Fox quieted for a second, planning her trip. Her mind in overdrive. After a few more seconds, she blinked, "Ah yeah, that sounds quite nice actually. The Mayor is always thinking he can control me and where I go. But jokes on him, I'm independent. I'd be a loner if I could but I've got to keep certain connections here and there" Fox replied with wrinkled nose, "Yeah of course, I can finish sketching them out in the next day or so and then I could-" She stops before frowning at Sparrow, "Did you say your dragon? As in the kind of creature who murders humans?" She said in a dangerously low voice, "What kind of dragon? And why would you have a dragon of all things?"
Sparrow looked partially confused. She thought all dragons were bad? How hilarious! "Yes, I said my dragon. Some dragons aren't bad Lilac. Some have a heart. But I call her mine because she usually follows my command." She cocked her head with a small grin. "Theres a city not too far from here full of dragons who only want to make friends with us. Also, there are some of the new dragons there. But not like some, but like.. a lot of dragons you've never seen before." She shrugged, "I can take you there if you want, i'm sure my dragon will let you sketch her. She's really nice and she understands our language a bit. As I understand hers but not very well, I only know a few words."
Fox scoffed and placed the notebook Sparrow gave her in her bag before crossing her arms, "Suree" She drew out real slow like, "I've never met a dragon who hadn't been out to kill me. In fact, dragons are the reason I have no family" She spat before softening just barely as she thought for a second before nodding her head, "Alright then, prove to me these dragons are nice" She started slowly, "And I'd love to draw your dragon.. Wait she speaks a bit of our language? They can learn it? Then I can speak to her.. if that's okay. I've never talked to an actual dragon before"
Sparrow rolled her eyes. "We should get going, if we leave now we can get there in a few days. I have enough food to last a town six days so just the two of us should be fine." She turned and sneered, though she didn't really mean it. "You need to go say bye-bye to mommy and daddy?" She mocked. "I can wait if you just can't go without a goodbyyye~"
Any kindness Fox held towards the girl fell in a second, her eyes burning. Her hand reached towards her blowgun as she snarled at Sparrow, "Shut your mouth. Now" She started before she released the blowgun and pointed at Sparrow, "Don't even go there or I will and can kill you" She said quietly before ducking her head. She didn't need the other girl seeing her cry.
"Oh calm down. I didn't really mean it." Sparrow felt bad, knowing she had hit a soft spot on Lilac. She didn't let her remorse show, obviously, but she really really felt bad now. Oh you stupid f*ck. You just had to go that far, just because you aren't hurt by not having parents doesn't mean she isn't affected either. She wanted to say sorry but didn't want to seem weak. "But seriously, do you have anyone you want to say bye to? We'll be gone for a while and I don't want any of your townsfolk tracking you to Sanctuary because the 'Dragonslayer' and all."
Fox glanced up at Sparrow again and wiped a strand of hair from her face, "Hmph" She murmured before straightening with a sigh, "No, I don't have anybody really. No family, friends, or anything. And they won't notice I'm gone, the Wingwatchers I mean. They'd only notice if I don't show up for my shift and even then, they won't care much" Fox replied to Sparrow's last statement, her tone still harsh.
"It's settled then. We leave now." She started away at a quick jog, her bag thumping against her back. Sparrow weaved between the trees and didn't stumble once, as if she had lived here for a long time. She didn't look up at the sky like most scavengers did, she just trusted her hearing and memories to guide her. She had spent years trying to see where the borders of the dragon hunting grounds were. After a mile or so she started to walk, staying close to trees and watching the sky. She assumed Fox knew where the hunting grounds were so she didn't say anything.
Fox nodded her head without replying before tightening her bag straps and following Sparrow, I woke up today thinking it'd just be a normal day of boredom and here I am, traveling with a girl I just met. A dragon lover at that. Let's hope this isn't a mistake Fox thought to herself as she stepped over multiple broke trees and twigs almost absentmindedly, but she continued to watch Sparrow infront of herself. Still trying to figure out whether or not she should be trusting the other girl. After a few minutes, Fox decided to at least try and get to trusting her. If she didn't kill Fox when they met, she probably won't now. Or at least she hoped so. Soon they came to the hunting grounds and by then Fox had assumed Sparrow knew exactly where she was going, it seemed like it at least.
Sparrow walked along a log to cross a thin stream. The trees should come to a break in a few minutes, from there we'll need to dash across and... She counted on her fingers as she walked, Three days, and we'll come to the foothills. She nodded and looked back in front of her, watching as the trees thinned out. She stopped at the treeline, looking behind her at Lilac. It went without saying they needed to be quick, as there were distant roars and calls. The Sky Palace was really, really close.
Fox gives a nod at Sparrow when she looks back at her, she understood the need to be quick. But when she heard roaring in the distance, Fox froze. Not completely in a fear but also rage. If she ran fast enough, Sparrow won't be able to stop her and she could easily kill at least a dragon or two before either she got killed or she got caught. But after a long sigh, Fox clenched her hands and stayed put as she came up and stood next to Sparrow, "Where's this city? How far away from the trees?" She asked before glancing up at the sky.
"The stretch is only about forty meters or so." Sparrow sounded calm and almost bored. She saw how Fox reacted to the roaring and bit back a snarky comment. "It'll take about thirty to forty seconds to cross, leaving us in the open. How fast are you? And the city is in the foothills of the big mountains, near here." Sparrow turned to look at Fox, noting the clenched fists. She put her hand on Fox's shoulder firmly. "Hey, don't do anything stupid."
"That's not to bad. Only thirty seconds, forty seconds" She answered before frowning, "Of course I'm fast, you kind of have to be fast to survive around here. And I'm a Wingwatcher soo" Fox said in a smart tone and a tone that said being a Wingwatcher explained everything, before twisting her hand to dig her nails into Sparrow's hand that was held on her shoulder, "If we're going to be traveling together, then let me set a few quick rules. Number one, no touching me in anyway unless I state otherwise. Two, don't under estimate me. Three, no telling me what to do. And last one for now, four, I won't hesitate to kill you if any rules are broke" She said as she quickly released Sparrow's hand from her grip. "Behind those foothills yeh?" Fox started as if the last few seconds had never happened.
Alright smarty-pants. Sparrows hand twitched for a moment as Fox dug her nails in, as if Sparrow was going to try and hurt her. Sparrow smiled and pulled her hand away, "You got it princess." Sparrow watched the sky above, narrowing her eyes. There was a dark shadow high in the sky, a Sky Dragon. Sparrow jerked her head upwards. "They have good eyesight so we might have to go along the rocks." She pointed to a rock formation a few meters away. "And yes, there's an icy lake near there that holds the town." She responded, starting off towards the rocks she had pointed out a few moments earlier. Jeez, she didn't have to grab my hand to make her point. Not like it hurt, Sparrow bit back a small smirk. I've done worse to myself.
Fox nodded, not willing to say anything else for the time being as she followed Sparrow's glance to the sky. A shadow flickered in her eyes as she whole face darkened. A Sky Dragon. Hmph, just my luck really. I couldn't even kill it if I wanted too, my darts won't do sh*t to it. Maybe if I had my sword back.. Her thoughts trailed off as she realized what Sparrow had called her, "Oi! Bird. No calling me princess. I don't see a crown on my head" She stated before following Sparrow to the rocks, "Innit a bit weird, these rocks. Are they natural or man made?" She asks as she wipes her hands on her skirt, she hated the feeling after she touched someone.
"I won't call you princess if you don't call me bird." Sparrow sneered. She thought for a moment. I honestly don't know if they're manmade or not.. "I dunno." She shrugged, hoping her answer was suffice. Sparrow watched the Sky Dragon for a few moments before darting out to the rocks without warning. She seemed to disappear for a moment before popping around the bend and waving to Fox. After the signal she kept running, she was quick. She nearly reached the other side when the dragon swooped down and grabbed something from the stretch of grass before flying away and out of sight. Sparrow didn't falter. She reached the other side and dove into a hole in the side of the mountain.
"Fine. But one, your name is literally a bird and two, Bird means woman or girl" Fox said with a huff, nobody got her words most of the time. Or understood some of the words she used. She nodded at Sparrow's answer and tilted her eyes upward to watch the Sky Dragon. She thought about killing it right there and then but something stopped her. Maybe it was guilt or something else, she didn't know. Her eyes flickered to the other girl and Fox nodded as she gave her a signal. Fox let out a breath, she was fast, the fastest person she knew. She'd be able to get across the terrain. Fox started running as fast as she could and she didn't notice when the dragon started to descend in the sky, coming towards her. Seconds past and as Fox had almost reached the halfway point, the dragons claws closed around her and it picked her up. Fox let out a very colorful string of curses and tried to get to her bag which was hard since she was twisted in a painful way, "Sparrow!!" She shouted as the dragon started to fly upwards.
There was no response to Fox's cries. Sparrow had disappeared from her view as she scaled the rocks at an insane speed. Sparrow hissed as she nearly fell but she caught herself and bounded up the rocks. She made it to a wide ledge and leapt off, landing with a thud in the back of the dragon. She felt it dip and then pick up speed, trying to throw her off. Fishing out her dagger, she wedged it between the scales of the dragon, earning a spurt of blood and a roar but she held on. "I'm coming for you Lilac!" She shouted over the pained roars. Sparrow was risking her life for a girl she had just met. As quickly and carefully as she could, Sparrow slipped down the side of the dragon, using to dagger to keep her safely rooted in place. She slid down it's arms and glanced at Fox, Sparrow looked completely calm. Sparrow grabbed Fox's shirt with one hand and used the other to stab at the dragons claws and arms. She heard it roar with fury again. Sparrow used her legs to keep her rooted firmly the dragon, she just hoped it didn't drop them or eat them right now.
Fox cursed in an old language, Sparrow wasn't going to come back for her. Why would sh- Her thoughts where interrupted when she saw the other girl jump onto the Sky Dragon. To say Fox was surprised was an understatement, the girl had come back for her. She breathe about deeply and glanced back at Sparrow, "Uh thanks, let's just hope the dragon doesn't decide to eat us. I'd try to talk to them but.. well you did stab them. Not that I'm ungrateful! I just don't want to make it angrier" She rambled on. She couldn't believe Sparrow was still here, trying to save her at the very least. Jeez I guess I'm not as fast as I thought She thought to herself.

"I hope they don't decide to eat us too." Sparrow responded, and tried the pry Fox free. She huffed angrily and started sawing at one of its claws. "LET HER GO" Sparrow shouted, though in English so it sounded like squeaking to the Sky Dragon. Then Sparrow had an idea. "I'll be right back!" Sparrow said to Fox, wrapping rope around Fox the attach her to the dragon. "In case it drops you." Sparrow informed and swung herself onto it's shoulder. Then She shimmied up it's neck and jerked on it's horns. "TURN YOU BIG OAF" She shouted in Dragon, trying to get the Sky Dragon to turn around.

Fox nodded her head in silence, she didn't think she could.. well think at all. But after a few seconds she brightened up, "What if I-" She cut herself off as Sparrow wrapped a rope around her, "What are you doing?" She asked with a hiss. But as soon as she said it, she realized what Sparrow was doing. When she heard a noise above her, she facepanned and sighed. They were certainly going to die, "Maybe I could ask it, well more like demand it, to take us to that city of yours? demanded by me? ))Sparrow thumped the dragon on the back of it's head and shouted at it once more. "TURN! THAT! WAY!" She tugged on it's ears with an angry, wordless yell. "You can try but IT SEEMS TO HAVE FLUFF IN IT'S EARS" She finished, practically screaming at it to turn. She jabbed the blade between it's scales, her yelling turning to a shrill shriek. "I don't love Sky Dragons either." Sparrow responded, her dark face popping over the side of the dragon.

Fox would have covered her ears at Sparrow's yelling but she didn't have the energy and she could move her hands without either falling or dropping something, "Maybe if you didn't hit it" She mumbled before switching her language to the dragon's language. It sounded like multiple hissing noises. After a few seconds, Fox sighed, "So. A bit of a problem. The dragon is angry with us. BUT I think I convinced it to take us to that city" She comment in their own language.

ohhh okay! ))Sparrow frowned, "Well that was easy." She slipped down the dragon, untying and trying to pull Fox from the dragons claws. When the dragon let go she shrieked and nearly dropped Fox. She grabbed the dragon with one arm and tugged Fox up. "There, wanna come sit up there then?" Sparrow asked, brushing off her shirt collar, which had a few speckles of dragon blood on it. "Sorry Dragon-" She mumbled, clambering up it's shoulder and sitting there, holding onto it's back spikes. The dragon did a lazy turn and glided in an air current, going the direction of Sanctuary.
to the sky kingdom? ))
((I'm sorry I haven't replied! I'll write something up soon during my lunch break, I'm in a class right now. English))
Fox nodded her head, "It was, wasn't it? Normally it takes longer to convince dragons not to kill me. Well then I kill them but that doesn't matter" She says carelessly as Sparrow pulled her up. By now, Fox had fully decided that she could trust the other girl. She did save her life at least twice now. When Fox realized she had lost herself in thought, she quickly shook herself out of said thoughts and shot Sparrow a confused look before realizing what she was asking, "Sure" She said before climbing up behind Sparrow to side on the Dragon's shoulder along with her.
