Five Bubble Book Club discussion

Science fiction capers:
- The Crown Jewels would be my strongest recommendation. It's imaginative, has excellent characterization, taught plotting, and wonderful world-building. It uses the Gentleman Thief trope in a highly-regimented, mixed alien-human society.
- The Stainless Steel Rat is oldie, but a goodie.
- The Quantum Magician is quite good.

Fantasy capers:
- The Emperor's Soul is a really good story. A captured magical forger must recreate the Emperor's mind -- and stay alive afterward.
- Made Things is a wonderful short book about magical puppetry.
- The Lies of Locke Lamora comes highly recommended. I haven't read it.
