It's gonna sound ridiculous but...sometimes I need a reading slump! Like right now when my school is reopening day after tomorrow and I have this really big and important exam next month which not just my family but my whole country is crazy about. And I haven't studied anything at all for it whereas there are people who work insanely hard for like 2-4 years for it! And then I have another very important exam in May and the Lord in Heaven knows what I'm gonna do in it. But here I am wasting/spending (idk) all my time reading fiction which is gonna help me in no way!!So whoever is having a reading slump, please send it my way. I need a reading slump. Most Desperately!😂🙏
I was in a reading slump last year for a few months. I was in such a bad mental health space that I didn't have the motivation to read. It's weird, but switching to temporarily reading on my phone instead of reading a physical book helped me get out of my reading slump
Ughh reading slumps are the worst. I was in one in January, and I still feel like I don't have enough time to read as much as I'd like these days :(
School is the main reason for all my reading slumps. The load of assignments, tests and exams is so much that I don't find enough time to read. Then, if I procastrinate on schoolwork and spend time reading, my parents go after me. My mom has taken my Kindle away for several times because she believes it's a distraction.
Right now, I have a week left for final exams, and I'm super stressed out because I need to study all day long and I can't read!

I agree. I have exams rn and im not in a reading slump but im always busy
When I get a reading slump it usually helps to read a book that I've been really excited to read or have been wanting to read for a long time, and if I enjoy it, it makes me want to read more!
I also try to switch it up and read audiobooks or books in different genres that I don't usually like. Also, buddy reads and bookclubs help, cause discussing and reading with other people make it more fun and it motivates you to keep reading!

I totally agree!! I don't get reading slumps that often and it's usually if I'm really busy and stressed about school and I can't read. And then if I try to take a break from work and read for a while, I just can't concentrate cause I keep thinking about all the work that I still have to do!!
