What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

This sounds crazy but I have snippets of memory of this book. Maybe he’s a writer in Los Angeles? He goes to the movies and sees an old actress and cries. He becomes obsessed with her and tries to find her. His girlfriend is jealous. Maybe his name is Greg, that just jumped into my brain, lol. I thought it was called Always but the word is too common and I can’t narrow down the search. Thanks for any help!!

Hi Allie, there are similarities to Bid Time Return (later retitled Somewhere In Time to tie in with the Christopher Reeve movie of the same name).

The protagonist is a screenwriter who becomes obsessed with a nineteenth century actress and travels through time (or maybe only in his mind) to meet her.

Probably not the book you have in mind, but thought I'd throw it out there.

Thank you. I have heard of that book and movie. I really think this was called “Always,” but I’m not positive. Googling has been an exercise in futility and frustration. I’m almost also positive there was an antagonist named Sharon. Ughh, the search continues. Thanks for your help!
