I remember liking Ruby very much. It's been a while, but I remember her being loyal and a very hard worker, but very much a realist.

On a side note: I am listening on audio and I wasn't sure abt how to spell Inman's name so I googled it... I didn't know this was made into a movie in 2003 and after looking at the cast - I totally want to watch it!
