I'm excited to read it. Currently awaiting my copy from the library, since I can't afford a $30 book right now. Based on your reviews, I'm hoping that my copy arrives soon!

I'm really excited too, Jay!!! The High Republic is an era that absolutely excites me!!! Feels like such a fresh idea to explore in the EU!!!! The Old Republic (specifically Revan) is so cool. Can't wait to see what they do in another time period in the Star Wars Universe!!

I loved this, aside from the slow moments on the middle of the story i had a blast with this.I love how they let you know many times in many of the moments of the story how just because you are a Jedi and even a powerful one fighting against an enemy that it's not force sensitive, doesn't mean you are gonna win, you're not OP by any means. I really like this.
I liked this book so much that made me want to read the comic book series of the High Republic (i'm not a comic book reader). I read that Sskeer is there and he's hte one character that standed out for me, i kinda like him and i want to see how keeps on going with his life after what happened in this book.
I think this was a great start for the series and i can't wait to see what's gonna happen next.

I finished Part One today. To this point, I'm really enjoying it. The story doesn't have a lot of "clutter" like some Star Wars books have. Clear and concise. Just how I like it.
Minor gripe I have is that Part One started to drag a little toward the end (it lasts until about 30% of the way into the book). I think the singular focus problem is what made it feel this way.
I also wish they could have at least gotten through Part One without anything regarding Yoda. I personally would like a Star Wars book without any connections to the Skywalker Saga. But I guess Lucasfilm is too worried something new won't stand on its own without a connection to the old to draw people in.
Looking forward to where this story goes....
