Challenges from Exploding Steamboats discussion

Of course, you can double up and use whatever you read for the 700-page prompt. I'm trying not to do that, so more options for me are Kushiel's Dart and Obsidio. What other big tomes are you hoping to topple this year?

I just read "The Corrections" by Jonathan Franzen. I spent most of the book enjoying the writing, but hating almost all the characters. There was a bit of redemption (correction?) near the end, or was that just because I was nearing the end?
