Title: Thin IceAuthor: Paige Shelton
Would you recommend this book? Absolutely. It's a mystery set in Alaska, very atmospheric. The protagonist suffers from trauma induced amnesia resulting from a head injury resulting in brain surgery after escaping a kidnapper, all of which occurred prior to the events in this first mystery of a series. As her kidnapper has not been captured, she's in hiding while healing and hoping to get back her memory. She gets caught up helping solve a local crime.
ETA: It was also an Edgar 2021 nominee for the Mary Higgens Clark award. And it's first of a series - I liked the second Thin Ice just as much and eagerly await the third.
Completed this one in August. I read a rom-suspense from Mount TBR—Title: The Lost Girls of Johnson's Bayou
Author: Jana Deleon
Would you recommend this book? Yes. If you like rom-suspense with a Gothic vibe, this may be for you.

I read this author's Mudbug series and liked them a lot. I also am a fan of these romantic suspense, though the religious side to these Harlequin Love Inspired ones can derail it for me.
Title: The Dark RoomAuthor: Minette Watlers
Would you recommend this book? Yep. Actually passed it onto my mom and she was reading it last weekend and loving it.
Theresa — I’ve read a few of Jana DeLeon’s suspense books and have enjoyed them. I could never stand the Love Inspired imprint (if I wanted to be preached at while reading, I’d open the Bible), but I do like the occasional Intrigue, which is the line for which DeLeon writes/wrote.

If you haven't read DeLeon's Mudbug series, do. They are fun.
Title: Siri, Who Am I?
Author: Sam Tschida
Would you recommend this book?
Yeah, to anyone looking for a light, silly rom-com. I enjoyed the book.
It's not the book I'd planned to read for this category!! I put this on hold at the library just because it looked fun, and when I started reading it, I realized it was all about a heroine with amnesia.

Title: The English PatientAuthor: Michael Ondaatje
Would you recommend this book? I would recommend it to everyone who likes a descriptive book with long and beautiful sentences, and almost no action. I didn't like it that much myself.
Title: The Face of a StrangerAuthor: Anne Perry
I read this for a mystery book club and rated it two stars. I didn't especially like it and didn't finish it. Main character, a police officer in Victorian England, has amnesia.

Lol, I read it a few years ago and wasn't that impressed either. But I had forgotten it was about forgetting! Irony!!
The Housekeeper and the ProfessorYōko Ogawa
Oh my goodness, yes! I recommend! This was such a sweet book and will probably be my favorite of the year!
Title: RecursionAuthor: Blake Crouch
Would you recommend this book? Yes, I gave it 4 stars, didn't love it AS much as Dark Matter, but Crouch has a way to make science interesting.

Me too. Agree on everything.
Title: The Housekeeper and the ProfessorAuthor: Yōko Ogawa
Would you recommend this book? Definitely! One of the first fiction books I read this year. Loved it so much, and glad to see so many people in this group recommending it to each other. It deserves the love.
